I've got some parts coming from the States, my options for freight are
UPS - $750.00
Bax - Door to your Door - $400.00
Bax - Door to Airport - $250.00
Anybody use Bax before, I've never heard of them, wondering if door to Airport is my local airport or closet capital city.
Was told the UPS included duties, but all my parts only come to $600us so if I go Bax I will avoid taxes and duties as I'll be under $1000.

No, I very much doubt it. They pretty much customs clear everything so you'll pay all taxes and applicable duties.

The $1000 limit is only for posted, not couriered.
I'm quite sure about that.

Also, never agree to door to airport shipping. The f-ing around is totally not worth it.

Can these items you've bought be posted via USPS?

If not from the supplier..send them to a friend in the States (somebody here has some you could contact probably) & get them to repack them all & send via post for you on a slower untrackable cheap post but include and invoice with it. Classics currently have free INTERNAL USA ground delivery for stuff worth more then US$99, or ask an importer to bring them in by sea freight, probably only worth $100 oz for them to do that, but you will be taxed then this end unless they do a bodgie for you, which is not recommended...

What Steve said, I know from experience db adds another charge to process on top of delivery fees etc

The $1000 limit does apply to goods whether posted or by courier, however the courier has to lodge a declaration, so this will be where they make some more money. Got the following from the customs website.

# Imported goods arriving otherwise than by post will require the completion of a Self Assessed Clearance (SAC) declaration before clearance from Customs control
#

* SAC declarations can only be lodged electronically
*
o no cost recovery charges are imposed by Customs on SAC declarations but administrative/processing charges may be imposed by carriers acting on your behalf.

# Where the carrier of your goods has sufficient information available to be satisfied that no duty or taxes apply and that no import permit is required, they may lodge the SAC declaration on your behalf
#

* it is understood that the major express couriers will do so

I brought some ally heads in last year, and went for the "cheaper option" ....
Not the case, they hit me with an extra $150 here..........then the customs runaround....more money!!
Not worth it....ship to your door!!

i used bax global a few years ago and thought it would be cheaper to pick up from the depo at the airport, not so when i went to pick up i was told its cheaper to your door as there was a airport fee, but no problem with teir service they have been around years.
