I like candlelit dinners,long walks on the beach...oops!!,Sorry,wrong site:eek:

Down to the serious stuff.
From Townsville,Nth Qld.
I notice a few names on here I already know.
I'm 51yo,a Civil Design Draftsman by trade but been self employed as an Earthmoving Contractor the last 18 odd years.
Been into cars and dragracing my whole life.Never been a hotshot big name but always been around it.
I sponsor a few car shows and drag meets and am a corporate member of Northern Drag Racers Club.
Taken a big interest in Eighth mile racing the last few years.
Out of three eighth mile events I ran last year I got runner up at two of them.
Finally came home with the win at Warwick abt 3wks ago:D

I have a few cars but I'll only mention the US ones Since the site is called US Muscle:p

In order of age
1969 Plymouth Barracuda Notchback 440sixpack done as a pro streeter.Legally:)My fun car:D

1970 Dodge Challenger 440.My baby.My dream car.Nearly finished cubic dollar restification taking 4-5yrs.

1972 Dodge Dart Swinger 318.Just started this one for the missus to have as a show offs car. It's coming along REALLY quickly.

1996 Chev Camaro V6:eek: The missus daily driver.Bought it for her birthday abt 4yrs ago.She was in a 1989 transam before that.

2000 Dodge Ram 4x4 Clubcab blown and injected 360magnum.The mopar towcar:o

Will post up pics when I get enthusiastic enough.
Meanwhile,any questions?

Ken, welcome aboard, nice collection. Doubt you'll here any complaints about Mopar's on this site, i think most would prefer a Mopar but went the cheapo option of a Chev....

Nah mate,never a charger.
I've run maybe 20 or 30 cars on the strip but the main ones starting from the late 70s were a 68 VE Valiant ute,71 VG Valiant hardtop,75 Centura and then in the late 80s/early 90s partnered up with my brother running a 6cyl hemi altered T-bucket replica.(My brother lives north of Cairns and currently has a sweet one owner 1965 Plymouth Fury 2 door hardtop 383 bigblock powered.)
More recently I've been running the 69 440 Barracuda mentioned in another thread.

Yeah,we dropped out of it abt 1992 to pursue the almighty dollar:pso you came in a little after us.
I first got into racing by crewing with a mate (Gordon Smith)who was a red motor lover. He ended up with a blown and injected rear engine rail went 9.7@142 in the early 80s.

Here's what the Bohle strip looked like at one of it's earliest meets in the late 70s.That's my brother,Matt in the pic.

You may have known my youngest brother Dave from your time.He was the announcer at the track around then.

The t-bucket in the previous pic above we purchased as a roller from Bob Millet when he upgraded to a modern bucket.

Yeah mate,I was just a lurker for a while before I posted an intro.
I don't have a lot to contribute here since most of these fellas are chevvy blokes.
even though I do have a Chev as the missus daily but that still allows me to refer to Chevs as "girl's cars":pTHAT'S bound to get me into strife on here:D

Anyway,I'll post a pic of the latest I'm doing for the missus as her toy car.
This is how the 72 Dodge Dart Swinger is looking at the moment:)

I thought it was green(ish) in the other photo but now it looks yellow.
Is it an original Mopar colour?

nqkjw
08-06-2010, 08:42 PM
The colour is the yellow off new Suzuki Swifts.
That rubber is the race rubber off my Barracuda.I was surprised they fit since the rears are 28x10.5x15s.However,it means I'll easily fit the 275/60/15s I intended to.I also now know what backspace rims I need to souce.
