Got to put my car on dyno yesterday after running in period stock ls2 still with MAF 4l60e auto cause of 308 ratio diff and 255x55 rear tyres it ran 260 ks in 3rd and 293 hp at rear Ive got to move air cleaner further away from radiater getting to much hot air then should get my 300 anyway not up to all you big block owners but am happy will change diff ratio to 3.4 or 37 soon as cash comes

Cold air is worth 1% for every 5°F decrease. It's well worth the effort.
293hp at the wheels is very good. :)

Not shabby at all. Best thing is you'll have a decent fuel consumption figure unlike a 300hp BB or SB ;)

Craig,
Well done! That figure of 293 RWHP is excellent. With reasonable gearing and traction you would run deep into the 12 second range. Plus all the benefits of cold starting, economy etc, etc. I know that you are happy to share details of the swap, can you post something up for all members? These new LS1/LS2/LS3 type motors are really the way of the future. I run 2 gen 1 small blocks, and I have quite a bit of gen 1 stuff. However if I was starting from scratch, I would definitly be going with Gen 3 equipment.
Once again, well done...now give us some details and photos:D

Was hoping for the 300, maybe when sort out the cold air intake it will make the 300, the intake is stumping me want to make it tidy and fit in space I have not being a natural born sheetmetal guy its going to take some time to suss it out probably not worry about playing with engine want to do intake and rear sway bar and then diff gear change also waiting on Retro sounds new updated radio to be released March they say so can have some music But after 6 years mucking around on it I just like driving it

I am happy with the AM radio, or at least i was when i had the wild 406 in the 67, could not hear a dam thing even someone sitting next to me. Now with the bbc installed I can actually hold a conversation inside so maybe I will be looking for one of those audio setups.
do you have any more info?

Have you thought about mounting a decent CD/MP3 tuner under the dash or in the glove box and leave a stock AM radio in the dash ?
It'll be cheaper and you'll get a way better sound IMO
I had a "cutom auto sound" radio cassette (rebadged Kenwood) it was a POS !
Anyway, you should be happy with 300HP at the rear (my BBs not much better) but does have alot of torque

I had a pair of 6" in the rear of mine flush on the parcel shelf, with the "old school" metal grillls painted interior colour, but 6x9s will fit (just) but cutting out the holes with the back window in would be a job for a car radio place (if you trust any)
For the front, I used a pair of 4" mounted side by side under the dash grill, sounded good, but not much stereo effect.

You shouldn't connect 2 speakers up to one channel (impedance is wrong) if that's what you mean ?
I had a Kenwood deck that was 25w x 4 so front L front R - rear L rear R
Most CD tuners are built for 4 speakers these days, will play MP3s, have an input in the front as well and have RCA output for amps etc.
There's a sheet metal place I get the under dash brackets and "original looking" speaker grills from if you decide to go that way.
