69 Charger...

I wouldn't think it would need a 'Caution, left hand drive' sticker

i only thought that was for newer cars

I moved to Mount Martha last week. I have pics but haven't saved them yet. So far in been out and about for just about 1 hour on Sun I saw:
67 Camaro vert
68 Camaro with bumblebee stripe
69 Camaro blue with white stripes (Rat 69 plates) - actually really nice car, awesome stance
3 Mustangs, all 60's stuff
63 Vette
6? SS Chevelle
2 x GT Falcons
Compact Fairlane
and a Mainline ute

None of these were travelling together and were all over different parts of the peninsula as I had a fair bit of running around to do...made me feel like going home and grabbing the Camaro

Was back in Long Jetty today getting some work done on the Chally, and went and had a closer look at the Ford I posted above. Glad I did.

'69 Ford Mercury Cyclone 428 Cobra Jet.

Was bought into the country new back in '69 and converted to RHD by a Toyota dealership. Apparently the conversion was so dodgy, it utilised 12 tie rods ... hahahaha :D.

It was purchased by it's current owner, Sonia, over 20 years ago in the late 80's. She bought it with the intention of towing her horse float around and drove it as she bought it for a few years, using it as a daily driver. She then met her now husband who wanted to re-do the conversion, properly.

They've done Targa Tasmania twice - 1996 & 1997.

Still sports its original engine & drivetrain. Very nice ride!

Only had my iPhone. Friggin' spewin' I didn't have my DSLR with me.

Russ,

I remember this car from a long time ago. Sonia and her first husband used to come and stay with my wife and me when Summernats were on each year. In the divorce she kept this car and her ex kept the factory big block corvette that they also owned. I can't believe that she still has this car. I also can't believe that I read an article about her and this car in the last week in a magazine at a shop/reception area somewhere!

The last time I saw the car was when it was in my front yard with a blown engine, probably in 1989

It is a very cool and a very rare car.

What's the story with the freeway?

Its three lanes, and its open only one way for certain hours of the day, then its closed and they reverse the direction. Only in South Australia.

Oh they used to do that over the Narrows bridge here in Perth in peak hours. Then they just built another duplicate bridge alongside the Narrows to allow for extra traffic. Took forever.

Can't be 100% but I'm pretty sure the yellow school bus was completed by "Andy's Restorations" in Kurnell. The thing was only completed a couple of months ago if it's the one I'm thinking of ! Pretty amazing.

Due to the missus having a mix-up with her rego, had need to be at the Midland pits this morning. Whilst her car was getting checked out, this rocked up. Got talking to the owner who bought it in from the states last year and has been trying since last Christmas to get it registered, which he did this morning. Absolutely immaculate.

Its been there a while but I just never saw it as its not a direct route to and from places and up a cul de sac. The posty said someone a few blocks away had a red Mustang out the front. Being a Mustang, I never bothered to chase it up.

Spoke to the owner Steve and we had a good chat. He's owned it for about 20 years, RHD, was rego'd and loved taking it to the drags. The motor let go and he's building a new one and will re-rego it.
