Nearly time for me to leave work and head home.. This is going to mean getting the 69 over the pits, or least making my first attempt. I just about have everything sorted ( still waiting on PS pump !! ).

But I do have a few questions that I am not sure about!

1) What can you get away with as far as the spare goes - same as fitted or a space saver or nothing, same goes for the jack, and if I need these do they have to be anchored down.

2) Immobiliser - I know I need one, any recommendations for our types or cars - I just want something simple that will pass the pits, and I hate those phone jack ones, a remote would be better.

Thanks guys. :D

You dont need a spare tyre or a jack and you dont need a immobilizer if the car is 25 years or older.

hear, not here! :p

If you wish to fit a spare and jack, it would be very wise to anchor it.
Camaros have the spare wheel anchor in the trunk on the right side.

Also, if you wish to install an immobilizer, and I would, then I would suggest a transponder. These are brands that I considered when shopping around.
Transponders don't require any pressing of buttons or alarm noises or anything like that. They purely shut 2 or 3 critical circuits off untill the key-ring transponder is within range of the reciever mounted in the column or behind the dash.
Usually ignition, starter and fuel pump if yours is electric.

The PFK/Autowatch products has very good reviews and are priced very fairly.

The law is any new car after 2001 must be fitted with an immobilzer, but it's a good idea in any car..
We all say we don't leave our cars out of sight -which is rubbish in reality, and I bet you don't always leave home in them either.
Have you any idea how quickly these cars can be broken into? C'mon, you've all seen the original Gone In 60 Seconds right?
