As a mod I'm going to step in here.

This forum is a great place, we are pretty good and not hanging sh1t on people.

Michael (Booetemup) has had a hard time from us. He runs a legitimate business. Now while I am not suggesting his approach to date has been the cleanest and best (even I have made improvement suggestions), as Scott says time to give it a rest.

Lets lay this to rest once and for all.

Michael (Booetemup) offers cars for sale. Some (probably most - i don't know) he doesn't own, what he is offering is a find and deliver service. He aims to make money along the way, what you are buying is a service.

Has he posted up here in full disclosure of how he runs his business......no.....but it is in the open now.

What he does others do, do they do it differently do they advertise different, sure, but each to their own. That is there business decision not ours.

My simple view here is that Michael will be successful or not, based on his chosen way of getting the value of his offering out in the market place. If a potential buyer sees value via his methods of getting that message across great, for those that don't there are alternatives.

i am not taking sides here.

I love that fact than he has the balls do get into this business, I'm sure it ain't easy.
Likewise I personally think the approach to date could have been done differently to create a supportive community here and better advertise his offering.

the past is the past. Michael is within his rights to post up here, what i will ask is that all parties (inc Michael) tone the language, insults, name calling and sh1t stirring down from this point onwards.

Otherwise I'll just have to edit those posts out.

Comments on the cars etc all good and what we like to see, just no personal attacks at each other.

back to normal programming :)

Cluxford!!!!you have gone to 'bat' for 'BOOETEMAN' and as a 'Moderator' I understand your position and respect your point of view.....But !!!!!:(

In a business disscussion with a 'self 'made MULTI MILLIONAIR a few days ago he stated,Quote;"Nobody today wants to create wealth ,these days they just want to take something of the top,no risk,no investment, just a slice of the somebody else's pie"!!!!!!!

Cluxford,I read your defence then thought,NO!!!Not acceptable!!!!!!

I, like a number of 'Legitimate' operators on this site have invested 'Thousands' of dollars in 'PLANT & EQUIPMENT',years of working to build a reputation (Good or Bad!!:D ) and with the profit percentages we invest in 'INVENTORY' EG; imported Classic/muscle Cars, Parts and panels which we keep on a shelf for years in some case's ,so when somebody ask's we can say,"yep!! I think I've got one of those that just might do the trick",then ofcourse are the serious IMPORT/RETAIL guys thats carry select/specialist parts EG;Camaro parts/Mustang Parts

So our Mr (I can't spell)booetemup gets up our 'Collective' nose's,Hey!!! have a go!!! but don't insult those that have gone before and travelled a 'LEGITIMATE' path of credibility !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just an example,my 70and1/2 Camaro owes its original importer $25.7k
I'm offering the car at $23.5K,its loaded ,but I'm continually told if it was a '69 Camaro I would buy it,Question;why are you here?????and if it was a 69 I would want $30K plus,WWWHHHHYYYY?? because the 'core' investment price would be 'HIGHER'

The other punter I am confronted by is the guy whose 'MATE" can get him a better deal 'Stateside'(Mr booetemup) so his concept is to tell you, the present owner ,how many things are wrong with the Car/Camaro and that he's going to do me a huge 'Favour'and take it of my hands for $15k,"thats the best offer you will get, these Camaros are real cheap over there (USA) and there is a 'ressession', didnt you know?????, the (DUMMY"S) over there are 'bailling' out of Muscle cars just watch 'Jackson's auction any Saturday on TV"
He then jumps in his Corolla and blast's off into the 'Setting Sun'

Cluxford, lets wish all newcomers ,'All the very best for thier future',but lets at least ask them to observe good business proceedures and that includes this Forum, which I consider is a 'Gift' opportunity to be able to 'peedle' one's wares...................with regards thunder427:) :) :) :)

Miles, just to be clear, I am not siding with anyone.

This is a forum, owned and run by Steve, rules are simple, anyone with an interest in US Muscle is allowed to post up. Illegal and inappropriate (ie porn, spam etc) will not be tolerated.

Everything else is fair game.

All I have stated is that Booetemup has done nothing illegal and as such other members of this forum have no place using this forum to unload on him.

Do I agree with the way in which he has presented himself, not really and I have provide some guidance in PM. To which he did start a new thread laying all his cards on the table.

As you state it is about business practices. At the end of the day we are all consumers. If we do our research well, due diligence and seek info on those we want to do business with, in the end it is still each person decision if they want to buy from someone or not.

My role is to keep the peace in this forum, not to decide whose business model, marketing approach etc is "right" or "wrong". As he is doing nothing illegal he is free to post here. As for his business model and approach his customers will determine his success, regardless of what you or I think about it.
