I don't want to walk on quicksand here after what I've read elsewhere on this site about these guys but I thought I'd ask what this company is like before I get serious about importing a car with them.

Pm me if you're not willing to post it here. Cheers guys.

Mike , phil is a good guy and he's an aussie too. He is upfront with all costs to you .. He does get busy and can be hard to get hold of sometimes but all in all he will deliver.

Cheers Gav, he's pretty quick on the emails I've got to say. I only ask how trustworthy they are because you can't ring them directly and chat which kind of sets of a few alarm bells ringing.

It's just unbeleivable how the owner's asking price differs from the landed price.... if only we all had mates with ships, mates who lived in the states with all the time on their hands and mates in oz with car transporters!

Mike , i have a direct no for Phil i can pass on if you need it?
When you read the breakdown of costs a lot is in the inspection and transport to his holding yard which is in oregon. remember too there is a cost involved when landed from the aussie end of things. Pretty well most of the cars you see on the site are on 'craiglist'
I have dealt with him personally and he is a good fella

Cheers Gav, at the moment I'm waiting on a reply email for a further description of an Impala I'm interested in. I'll remember you have his number when the time comes. I understand about the costs, just complaining really! So far I've heard good things about them so I'll keep pursuing what I'm after.... even though I haven't settled on the camaro or the Impala yet! Cheers mate.

I'm after a second gen camaro or a '68 Impala randa... still can't make my mind up. Love the looks of the Impalas but I don't have a garage that will accept one! Price range is lowwww aswell.

I can say i have imported a car by usatoaus it took a while because of title issues but it is now here at my front door guys. Phil was up front with the price. What i got for my money was a nice car, drivable and very much how he described it. what i didnt get was the writen report prior that i asked for, Phil was prob a little too busy as said by others he is a little hard to get a responce from sometimes wich leaves you in the dark about things. But all is well i would use him again.

Aeron, just to clarify here, we left Washington state and drove to Northern California to inspect your car. We then called you and gave you a detailed description of the car and emailed through about 100 pictures that evening which you looked at and made the purchase decision. The next day we drove to Southern California and Arizona to do more inspections. Your report was emailed though a couple of days later, the day before the Import Approval paperwork IIRC.

It is pretty bloody crazy here at times. 14,000km+ in 3 weeks last month. One corner of the country to another and back plus some in between. We have 14 containers floating out there right now. We have about 5 more almost ready to go. We will be packing 3 to go next week. Another sale yesterday and one already today. Anyone know how to clone?

Phil also did send heaps of photos to me and called me with his opinion of the car it was acurate. The car will pass roadworthy with some basic mechanical and cosmetic tlc , no issues with rust or panel damage.

Great helpful guy. He is aware that it hard to get onto him and has actually just moved out here (to QLD) from the States to provide better customer service for us locals. Just try the 'info@' email I guess.

I bought my car of Craigs list there are heaps of scamers that work all of the car websites. The best way not to be ripped off buying a car is to have an apraisal done for arround $600 its cheap compared loosing all your money on a rusted out heap of crap or a car that does not exist.

I am currently using Usatoaus for bringing parts in they are very slow and dont like to commuicate not very professional IMO and they only brought some of my parts in and have heaps still there waiting so not real impressed considering he put a bunch of lawnmowers in my container for him to sell on ebay so beware they will do it eventually but hardly a joyfull experience

I've been using a website called http://hopshopgo.com, xlent for bringing stuff into Aus particularly if places like summit don't ship direct. They offer ship for me or buy for me options. They create an address in Oregon for your items to be delivered to and then forward them (generally at very competitive shipping costs) to Aus. I've used this for small items like timing gears and a balancer and would use them again in a heartbeat.
