no its not.. that I think is the four door pillared that was for sale in October 2009 for around $25,000. Ours is basic black 4 door pillarless.. she hasnt been out much as we are getting a few issues sorted out - but hopefully soon she will be back on the road.

My first time, incredible turn out, very few spare car spots at all in the parking area, had them parking on the grass out the back. Lots of really nice 1st Gen Camaros.

As Steve said caught up with a few of the guys from here.

To create more space I think organisers should look to weed out some of the standard cars from entering and is the band necessary as they took up probably 20 spaces.

I believe there was 400+ Mustangs at their day at Dandenong Showgrounds recently so there are plenty around

I think it is probably more an age group thing, and first gens are the aspirational car of this younger age group (I'm not alluding to me being young :D).

There was still no 2nd gen Camaros that I recall, or at Lilydale. Lilydale was easily the most convertibles I've seen in one place.

But as good as the number of Camaros was, the quality of them all was great, bring it on I say.

I'd agree with you 68ls1 about the aspirational car of the younger crowd. I'd class myself in that category. I am in my early 30's and am fortunate enough to be able to afford a 68 and drive my idol car. Everyone who comments on my car usually ends up saying that they are their favorite car, and would do anything to have one.

But I have reached a point all petrol heads reach, and want to move on from a classic cruiser, and build myself another bruiser. So the camaro is for sale to I can fund my next project....what ever that will be, something tough though.

Yeah. The main reason I am selling is I cannot afford to dump another $10-15K into the camaro. It has a beautifully smooth 327 in it with A/C and power steer. Plus I cannot bear to tear it apart to make it into a drag car. Better off going to someone who will enjoy it for what it is.

I can easily justify putting $10-15K into a car that not only I can continue to drive every weekend and appreciates in value, as opposed to a dedicated race car that I could drive 1/2 a dozen times a year with limited resale.

What sort of ET do you want? 10s are easy without hacking these cars up at all.

...a topic for another thread.. But why don't you bracket race it as it is and save up to get the ETs you want later..
Just saying that a dedicated race car that has to get towed everywhere is far less versitile as a hobby car in my opinion.
There used to be a magazine called Super Stock & Drag Illustrated, and it featured a great story that lasted several issues called "Giant Killer". One of the writers for the mag had a mid/late 70's Covrvette.. Ran 15s..
Anyway, it was consistant as hell and he'd bracket race and win against just about anything.. Then he'd drive home in it and could still go cruising on alternate weekends. :)

I was concerned with fuel leak, Alot of smokers around.
Parking on slight incline will do it.

The Early "Cudas" are a nice body shape, good to see something different, the grey RHD one has been around for a few years now, the light yellow coloured LHD cuda looked like a fresh US import, I have'nt seen it before.

Attendance was down, still a good turnout regardless, it is getting darker alot earlier now -day light saving will end soon, Most including myself left around 8pm.

I have been told April is the last nite until October.
