I am 2nd owner from new, Harvey spent 6 weeks in USA touring around and then shipped it home to Vic, it was converted then rego in Nov 73. I bought it off Harvey in Oct 1982, Was originally a 318/904 with 8 1/4 rear but now it is 440/727 with an 8 3/4 rear end.

Satellite at Canberra Street Machine nats 1984

Took it off the road in 88 for a windscreen replacement & as things do it sort of got out of hand & ended up striped back to bare shell & bare metal.
http://i495.photobucket.com/albums/rr318/colpay_photos/RogueRunner%202008/satellitenow022.jpg

Finally in December 2006 I was able to finally able spend some real money on it. The 440 was bored 30thou & rebuilt and fitted with Edelbrock RPM alloy heads. I had decided to fit a XJ6 Jag front end back in the 90s as this gave me 4 spots & HD rack & pinion with a very strong factory steering & geometry, I had sleeves made up then had a local welder weld these in then the Jag crossmember was welded to the sleeves.

The finished job all painted

I have a 2 post hoist (best thing I ever bought) & I totally cleaned underneath & painted it in POR15 then in a Blue Epoxy paint.

After Chrysler on the Murray 2007 I took Plymouth to Nev & Kev at GPRS to fix the crap conversion & paint it in Ford Shockwave.
Here is link to pics of what they did (700+ pics)

December 2008 I picked it up all nice & Blue & even caught up with Harvey the original owner!!

http://i495.photobucket.com/albums/rr318/colpay_photos/RogueRunner%202008/bluebum.jpg

I have been detailing the engine & made up mounts for the Alternator, aircon compressor & power steering pump. I wanted to mount these low in engine bay out of sight from the front.

Thanks.:D
Its a 1972 440!
The rear bumper is over 1/2 the bum & I decided to paint it to blend in more. I am going to move the bar closer to the body to give it a rolled pan sort of look. Going to open up the number plate area a bit so Aussie plate fits properly too.

It's a pity that we have odd sized plates down here. I see they are now releasing Euro sized plates, but why not US sized? Seriously, for the money they charge, how hard can it be?
I lightly fold my rear plate to fit the recess. It's personalized too, and there is no way in sweet hell I would dare modify my car to suit the damn thing.
My mate with a 70 'Cuda made his own plate and have never been questioned over it.. It's a regular driver for well over 10 years. It looks quite authentic, and it should.. He's a panel beater.

(PS. I think the rear chrome bumper in the Summer Nats pic looks really good.)

Original Vic rego is LRL 111 and I cut that plate down the middle and narrowed it but now i live in NSW & someone here has that plate so I got PLY 440 waiting for me.

Thought long & hard about whether to chrome or paint but I like the paint option. Front chrome bumper makes the car look good.

Was going to paint my Satellite "Passion Pearl House of Kolor" but at over $4000 just for paint I stuck with Shockwave.

The goose neck unbolts & then you can hardly see it. I have a brand new HD one from a Pajero that fits perfectly. I intend to buy a small caravan & go touring to shows around OZ and so the tow bar stays.
Harvey (original owner) had that made & used it to tow his racing ski boat around OZ & then later on he towed a tandem trailer full of building supplies when he built his holiday flats at Lakes Entrance Vic.

Done lots of picture research & decided to make the rear bumper body coloured to blend in with the rest of the car. It is so big & bulbous but painted it looks fine.

Plymouth was poorly converted way back in 1973 so we have improved lots of things.
This is how the drivers side firewall was...

Conversion was done in Melbourne early 73, backyard job by 2 now well known Performance Car fabrication brothers.
Had cardboard & masking tape demister ducts amongst the many dodgy parts. All gone now & it should be enjoyable to drive once I am finished.

Cardboard ducting eh? Oh, I love the neatly trimmed hole for where the steering column comes through. Let's hope these brothers are long out of business now..

Firewall looks a heap better, and the Magna A/C fits nicely too. Let's hope the A/C is a lot more reliable than the car it came out of! :p

Good stuff.:)

The two brothers run a successful Rod Shop in Melbourne but I think they must have cleaned up their act by now??
The TN Magna heater/air-con was a simple fit & even the angle of the intake duct matched the Satellite's fresh air inlet.

Test fitted the completed steering column & now I waiting on some blue heat shrink tubing to tidy up the wiring looms.

The Pheonix/Plymouth Fury brake booster bracket fits in place, I just had to drill the bolt holes bigger.
