I recently came across a brilliant website for shipping parts (& even cars!);

http://www.temando.com

They just launched, so only Australia now, but very soon to include International shipping.

It is basically a central hub whereby all the major freight companies put in red-hot rates and the system spits out some quotes you can select from & book (if desired).

Very easy to use, and for a freight-gumby like me, no more standing in line at the post office or not knowing what to do with parts bigger than a shoebox  :p.

As a guide, I just used to get two big 275/50 tyres Syd-Melb for $38 door-to-door, which I thought was pretty fair (excuse the mono image).

Anyhoo - check it out!

Nice one Deano!

That looks great!

The more people use it the better it will get.

Was good pricing but a change in their website in the last few days has doubled their prices. As I often send wheels and tyres interstate it is disappointing.

I have spoken to Matt at Temando and he could not understand why the price had changed with website re-design. He told me he'd call me back but so far has not bothered to get back to me.

I had a set of 4 wheels with tyres come from Melbourne last week for $65.

Todays quote to send only 2 tyres to Melbourne is $80, compared to the same quote last week for $45!

I used the temando website to book a courier to get a quarter skin from Perth to Townsville. Got a brilliant rate, came through Allied express.

Did you you alter anything like dimensions, weight etc?

I use Temando to get my diff moved from Melbourne to Adelaide.
All worked out well with that part of the deal.

No, all the same.

I used temando last week and got a good rate with Allied, 4tyres/wheels MEL-Terrigal $65. Did another quote last week for 2 tyres to Melbourne and it said $45 with Allied, so going to send this week and Allied doesnt come up at all, only hunter $80 and Australian air Express $533 o/n delivery. I've spoken to temando and its a problem with the change of website. Just dont expect to get anyone who seems to care.

Called Allied direct and got sick of being on hold for 20 minutes, it gave me the option to get called back and they never did. Also sent an email quote request with no reply.

Got a rate off e-go for $65 for just 2 tyres to Melbourne

Perhaps give these guys a try as well.

http://www.interparcel.com.au/

Same concept as Temando and E-Go.

I had a bike shipped from Adelaide to Melbourne for $50. Got it overnight as well.

Was very happy.

Thanks Nate, just did a quote.

$51.04 with tnt which is not bad but I had bad experience with the local depot which rules them out.

It took one day for the wheels to travel QLD-SYD, one day to travel SYD-to the local depot, then one full week for them to travel the last twenty km's!
