so I know this is a US muscle car forum but I though you guys might be interested to see how a hot rod comes together.
Thi is my 1932 ford tudor (2 door) sedan.
The chassis started as a pair of repoduction rails and was boxes with a fabricated k frame similar to original but much heavier. The front suspension is an I-beam front end based on original style suspension but 4" lower and with many polished stainless parts. Rear suspension is a triangluated 4-bar with a 9".
Brakes are XF falcon front discs with VP commodore calipers, a corvetter style7" booster and vetter style master cylinder with EF rear discs, calipers etc. Handbrakes is a Lokar lever and cables. HQ steering box and a pretty basic hot rod column with a 52 chev wheel.
The body is a fiberglass one that come with extra reinforcing, side intrusion bars, bear claw latches, seatbelt mounts etc. It has also had a 2" roofchop.
It will run cycle style fenders only.
Motor is a good running 315 dodge Hemi from a 55 sedan. It is stock except it will have an MSD, 426 style rocker covers and a pair of 390 holleys on a low rise manifold. Box is a t700 and will have a Gennie shifter.
Interior uses Glide Engineering rear seat and repo 57 Vetter front seats. The dash is a heavily modified 1940 dash (ie narrowed, reshaped etc etc etc) with VDO gauges.
Wheels are 15x6 and 15x8 Radir Tri-Rib with cross ply white walls, so it wont handles real well but they look right for the theme of the car (60's style)
Colour is Crunch Metallic from current commondores.
if you have any specific question dont hesitate to ask.
I have tried to put the pics in chronological order, so as you can see the whole car went together and we took it apart again for paint.
Thi is the concpet drawing based on a car I found a pic of on the net(photoshoped)
