Today I went to see an upholsterer who "specialises" in old school cars about re-upholstering my front buckets from my 68 Camaro. Now I already have the brand new seat foams, vinyl upholstery replacement kits, etc. so I was floored when I was quoted $1000 to do the job. Does this sound right? They then proceeded to quote me $600 if they do the job creating the foam from scratch!

What should I be expecting to pay for this sort of job and can anyone recommend a local (Perth metro) upholsterer?

Hey Albert,

Pretty sure I mentioned my mate when I dropped round to yours last time, but I don't think I forwarded his details?

Nice and handy for you too as he is just down the bottom of the hill, literally.

Give Jeff Farscak (I think thats how you spell it?) a call and tell him I sent you.

Just so you know, Jeff primarily does airplanes and can be rather busy with this work as it obviously takes a long time to retrim a complete plane. Automotive V Aeromotive there is really not much difference. He retrimmed the racing buckets in my Mazda in the original box weave pattern vinyl that he had to source and seriously they looked factory. He did a magic job and I won't hesitate in getting my Camaro retrim done by him.

This is good info as I'm sure more of us here will need seat work done in the future. Let us know where you end up and quality of there work.

Graham at Autopolstry (I think that the correct spelling) did the recover and foam on my roadrunner seats, I supplied him the repo foam and covers for the front and repo cover for the back.
I took the seats to him and I am pretty sure it was under $500 for 2 buckets and a rear bench.
He is in Martin (near Gosnells)
I can post the number if required
