You've got to give it to him... 4wd drifting or Grifting aint easy, and while yeah they obviously had a few goes at getting the first big corner right.. he wouldnt have had many chances at the corner coming out of the shed.

yeah yeah, i used to drive the XB falcon around corners like that when being chased, I was 17.:D :D :D
At that time if you said you were drifting people would have thought you were on a li-lo in port phillip bay moving with the currentl.

Just thought it was an odd statement...

Not that odd!
Could mean many things!
E.g. a race car drivers turns many corners, and are constantly chased, and XB's were popular cars when I was young.
Your not going to tell me that when you were young that you did not think you were a race car driver???? whilst having interest in cars.

I'll give you that, although it wasnt really phased like that was it ??

I'll give you that too... But I cant say I was ever chased..Unless you count being followed very closely by an XB whilst towing it with a mini...

it's June 1989.....
Had my license 2 weeks, was driving a 1.2L 1976 Corolla (in rural NSW) a cop car turned a corner about 1Km behind me, nothing between him and me, I'm doing 90 K's in a 60 zone.
Smarty thought I could out run him didn't I.....(looking for a side street to hide down)
NOT
Caution only but learned a valuable lesson, young, dumb and stupid.....
Learned that day you need more horsepower than the guy behind you !!!!!!

Chris we must be around the same age, I two had my first of MANY  licences around that time.
Your words have got me salivating like a - Lemon merrangue pie at the end of a boaring meal, and for years I wondered!! what happens to the young and stupid car people?
Well I think you just answered it!! We grow up after learning our lessons in the urban environment............ and then when we are self supporting we rag chew on websites about our life experiences mainly BS about cars,, whilst hiding in our garages or someone elses the wildest cars that we could possible dream off,,,, Is this whats commonly referred to as a "life learning experience"??
This means that what I felt about things when I was 7 are firmly engrossed into my everyday life.
What about others!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Paul,
Oh yeah. I'm an early 70's kid (late 30's now).
And yes, my car is the culmination of 20+ years of dreaming while expelling my adolescent belief if my and my (various) car's abilities over the past 15 years. I've had numerous types of cars and surprised I got this far without a stitch or a broken bone.
But what I did learn was when I do build one, properly...
I was going to do it right (ie I was NOT going to do it I was going to get a professional to do it for me)
The only time I ever got really busted by the cops was that day 2 weeks after getting my license, so glad he let me off with a caution.
My best mate is a copper now and would give his right arm to bust me. Lucky for me he is in Sydney and I am in Melb :D

Ive been in a few newspapers thats all Im going to say. And yes Chris I know where you are comming from with having something more potent that the guy behind you. Most of the guys behind me had lights, and I stopped most of the time.
