Only just spotted this... I'm a quartermile virgin (in a car - did a 10.6 on my GSX-R600) and my rig is pretty mild compared to many, but I like the "FUN" bit of it.
Reckon worth a crack & won't embarrass myself if run pox times? Entires still available? Anyone else? (JJ - I'm lookin at you buddy...)

Yeah it's all about having a good time, not every car is quick there.. My wife runs her 39 :p (TUFF39 above)
It's more about getting together having a look at a few other cars, muscle and Rods, and it's a great family day too..
And last I heard i think there were a few more spots available...

I'm getting pretty damn excited about popping my quartermile cherry at this & was just flicking through the Heathcote website, where I noticed it says you need a three-point seat belt at a minimum. http://www.heathcoteraceway.com.au/test_tune_info.shtml
I only have a lap-sash belt (legal for '67), does this mean I'm out? :( Surely there are other oldies attending that only have lap belts? Pleeeease??
PS - I sent Heathcote an email asking if can EFT instead of cheque, but no response. Hope don't miss out (If allowed anyway...)

Hey Deano,
Just get a cheap harness and bolt it in using the front and rear original seatbelt bolts..
easy and theyre only about $145.00 for a RCI latch style,
Thats what i did anyway.:)

Ta Jamie, Was that out of necessity for the rules? Or for safety coz you're a regular 'stripper'? ;)
This is pretty much a one-off for me, so an extra $150 & stuffing around (no rear seat belt bolts) is an option, but not ideal. Unless anyone wants a 'used-once-only' setup afterwards :D
Or would these kinda cheapies get me out of trouble / fit OK?

Hey Deano, I've had no luck looking on the net for them. If you can just get the one Jamie was talking about that will be fine. Around $150 will be ok. Either in black or red.

Dave, do you like this style? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300324639790
Coz I just bought TWO (only listed last night) for $110! :D For your 'goodblokedness' supporting me with this, you can have one of them for $55 delivered and I'll just keep the other for the future. Sound good? :) Happy to keep both or offer one elsewhere if not.. ahem..
Sorry this thread has kinda turned from "Come to the drags!" into "Find me a belt!"

Yes, yes, would like to get off this topic, but for anyone else intersted in coming, standard 2-POINT LAP BELTS ARE PERMITTED!!!
After a week of trying to get though to the Heathcote guys, I just now finally made contact & got confirmation that standard belts are OK  Obviously the harness I just bought is a smart move though ;)
Steve/Others
- Just an FYI that "Noel's" number on the entry form seems inactive (& not much response to the email on Heathcote site). I eventually got "Russell" via "Jacqui's" number - 0439 564 965. Freindly guy, but flying solo & under the pump, so be gentle :)

Interesting point there that Heathcote allow standard 2 point lap belts. Is this event an ANDRA sanctioned event ? As we are not allowed to run 2 point lap belts at any events at the Perth Motorplex.

Dave,
If AIR ever opens up again I'll need a set of these belts too as I only have the lap belt.
Would I be too optimistic if I bought belts now?

Maybe a rule-bend, or I was mistaken. So lets pretend I said nothing :o Will fit harness anyhoo... The rules on the Heathcote website are clear.

Nev,
It's hard to say. How many times have we been told things are going to start happening and then get nothing. Your guess is as good as mine.
I'm getting a set off Deano coz I won't be waiting around. I want to make the trip to an eighth mile track somewhere. Possibly Mildura. Barmera is still trying to get a quarter mile track going and I found out they have eighth mile events on the Waikerie air strip! I never knew that. I feel that if I leave things till a strip gets going here I'll be too old. Seriously!:(

Nev, i would advise not getting harness's until you actually need them. They are date coded and need to be replaced after a certain period of time whether you use them or not.

Nev, i looked it up in the ANDRA rule book last night and it seems i was only half right. Rule says you need to change the harnesses every 3 years only if you run quicker than 150mph.

Do these rules apply only to Heathcote or are they the same everywhere. I notice you need a cage if running quicker than 10.0. I thought it was anything quicker than 11.0 you needed a cage or has that all changed now. Also the Heathcote site says you don't need a harness until you get to 10.99?

Dave,
AIR rules on seatbelts below:
Seat Belts / Harnesses:
Vehicles running 11.99 or slower require a minimum quick release 3 point lap sash seatbelt complying with the current Australian Standard.
Vehicles running 11.98 sec or 110 mph or quicker require a minimum quick release 4 point harness complying with the current Australian Standard.
Any vehicle running between 130 mph or quicker requires a 5 point harness incorporating a crutch strap.

67cammy - I'm not sure ... I can only recommend you ask them.
nev68 - I noticed they state - 150mph must have a single parachute !
What if you don't realise you have a 150mph car 'til it runs down the quarter ? LOL ... bang !
i am interested to see the difference in time for premium vs LPG on dual fuel...
it's gunna be fun :)

Are you going to use slicks/drag radials Deano, or leaving the street tyres on ?

Are you going to use slicks/drag radials Deano, or leaving the street tyres on ?
Yeah mate. Just my 275/60 street radials. So prob just going to wheelspin my way to a low/mid-15, but don't care coz my car's no drag weapon, just a mild cruiser.. but I want a 'base' 1/4 mile time & dyno figure before start hooking into the engine upgrades (sometime in 2014 the way it's going ).
Will drop pressures to mid 20s & try variations up doing the run in '3' vs going through the gears (T350, std stally), and cross everything I have that nothing beaks so can drive the 2hrs home :D Just a bit of fun.

Looks like this guy mounted the camera on his roll cage which does'nt help you. I've seen camera guy's mount cameras to the windscreen and rear window using suction caps, not sure if they have this type of setup for a pencil cam though. I'm thinking about doing something silmilar for Powercruise and Motorvation as well...

I don't see a problem with traction from those huge meats, but 1.75sec 60fts shows it really needs more converter and/or gears.
