No worries ash, it'll probably be a month before I get to the brakes as I need the box to put back in the car to move it. I wouldn't sell anyone those Stewart warner P.O.S's. I will be selling the booster/calipers/rotors/lines together but I will be keeping the master cylinder at this stage.

wow didn`t know photobucket has so many tools, you all probably did but as usual I`m behind the 8 ball:D. took me 5 mins of screwing around to do this, pretty cool program.

Its a fantastic way isnt it showing the world our pride and joys.
Oh Ash! btw thats 5mins you will never get back! so you need to choose your applications wisely..
there is so much new stuff around and also old stuff evolving that its easy to get over load. But things like Photobucket actually add benefit for copyright privilege.
p.s love the car. Black or Blue in 69 looks to be a good vintage

Fitted the new brakes after the muck around I reported in my other post. Now just waiting on extra long 1/2 mag nuts for the bloody long 1/2 studs and I also ordered those flush mount valve stems as they are hitting the calipers.Hydroboost and new gauges to be installed shortly.
Vlave stem lack of clearance

Old idsc size installed.

New discs/calipers, not earth stopping but well good enough for me.

Today I fitted the hydroboost, haven't got it plumbed yet but I know a few of you were thinking of one. They are really easy to fit and the instructions(not that you need them)are really straightforward. The only mongrel of a job is under the dash mucking around with the brake pedal clevis. I don't fit under the dash to well and was too lazy to pull the seat out. Fitted the wheels up after getting the flush mount valve stems and it all clears.

I will attach some pics when I get home from work. Couldn`t get the hydroboost working properly initially and found it was because of the deep socket master cylinder I had. I fab`d up a metal plug that went into the piston, bled the brakes, fixed the leaks(hydroboost puts a LOT of pressure into the lines) and got a great solid pedal. The downsides of the hydro from my initial impressions are it`s a bit noisy(my whole car is though:D)and the pedal is very very touchy with not a lot of feel. I do reckon it`s one of those things you will get used to as my old system had more of a spongy feel. I am waiting on new wheel nuts to turn up as I am running the 1/2" studs on the front now so I hav`nt been on a proper drive yet. After all this I moved the car off the hoist and bugger me here was the little piston that fitted inside the master cylinder. It must have dropped out when I pulled it off. Pretty much exactly what I made.

Rightyo finally got some time to take some quick pics, I apologise for the crappy pics, I really got to leave a camera in the shed, had a bloody nightmare of a day as just finished off fitting the new gauges( autometer american muscle electrical series) and the oil pressure wouldn`t work. Double checked the wiring then earthed the signal wire, all good gauge went to full. Put a bit of pressure into the sender and metered, did what it was supposed to and dropped resistance. With the sender hooked up disconnected it at the gauge and metered it from running to not, all good. After ripping out whats left of my hair I found a signal wire breakage(inside the insulation) but a few strands still letting me use a meter on it and be confused. Three bloody hours later and I got it working.
While I was working I looked at the rag joint that gave me grief once before but I thought I`d fixed it...Wrong. Fitted a neoprene one now

Just took the car out for its first drive with all the new gear. That hydroboost and brake setup is nothing short of awesome. It honestly brakes better than my brand new dmax ute. I now know why Chris(Cluxford) said it was one of the best things done to his car.
Nice work Ken, the hydraboost looks like a much cleaner set up with a BB as well. Those gauges look sweet by the way!

I now have the car exactly where I want it. Heaps of power, stops on a dime, everything is relatively bulletproof. I am a masochist I swear, looking at selling. To be honest I don't enjoy the car as much as I should be as I hate to leave it out of my sight so I won't park it anywhere. Another smaller reason is I like having a car that is unusual and seldom seen. The camaro's are now about as seldom seen as an Indian cab driver. Not 100% yet but at about 95%. Looking at increasing my investments short term and if I sell it will PROBABLY not go into another car for 12 months.

Listed the car for sale and got a bit of interest, I can`t do it. I`ve been feeling really bad about it ever since I listed it last week. Cancelled the ad and give myself an uppercut. I have never built a car this thoroughly( i.e. expensively and extensively:D) and I would regret the hell out of it if I let it go. Whatever else I want being properties or my cuda fastback I`m going to have to manage it with my chev sitting in the garage.

There's plenty of people wanting a camaro around Australia, especially a big block one. You'd have to be pretty confident you're making the right decision when you list it, because you may not have much time to reconsider.
Out of interest, What sort of price did you list it for? A realistic sale price, or what you've put in to it?

72k, had one mate waiting for his house to sell to buy it,another mate who had the cash but I wouldn`t sell it to him. He doesn`t know a belt from a boat so I said no. Two blokes from the ad, but I rang them both about pulling it from sale and they were both understanding. I feel guilty I wasted peoples time but I thought I could go through with it.

Glad you're keeping it.. Why go through all the crappola just to end up "giving" it away for less than cost?
Not only that, you love the thing! :D

To be honest the car has sat in the shed due to me moving house. The small drive I took it on left me gobsmacked on how strong the braking was. I'm a little concerned its going to lock the fronts on a wet road but it's a matter as always of driving to the conditions.

Drove the car the 30 odd k`s to my new house yesterday( winding hills and highway:) ) this was it`s 1st real run since the brake upgrade. Brakes are as sweet as, car ran strong and nothing exploded. All in all a win I say:D. One little issue is with my exhausts running through the tank the radiated heat was more than I expected. When I shut the car down I could hear gurgling in the tank. Not sure if it was fuel boiling or some sort of pressurised return fuel. The tank itself was warm to the touch which isn`t ideal. I`m also running a non return style reg so might switch it to a return, not sure yet. Always one more thing to fix:rolleyes:
