Howdy,

I'm new to this site, stumbling across it while looking for parts.
i've noticed some mighty fine automobiles on this site :)

Just bought a house recently with a double garage and was looking forward to having the room to work on the 67 Firebird :)
Tho now that i've also aquired a 67 Impala 4 door hardtop i'm sorta struggling for room haha.. didnt realise how big it was until i squeezed it into the garage.

currently in the process of pulling apart my 67 Firebird to get blasted and primered. will get some pics up soon. i have no timeframe but would like it up sooner than later.. its been sitting around too long doing nothing.

Also currently scouring the web for parts (quarters mainly) for the Impala.

thanks!

tho the Firebird doesnt look that nice in its current state... :o
Engine had issues a couple years ago (balancer fell off at low speed and damaged the crank) so its been sitting covered for a while.
now that its in a garage i'm going to rebuild it.

one of the previous owners had it changed over to RHD and decided the best way to fit the steering box was the cut a chunk out of the chassis rail :(

Impala has some rust issues which need to be fixed but its drivable.
its a 4 door hardtop, 2 speed, 327ci.

here are some dodgy photos :o ... i really need to take better ones.

Thats what they have to do to install the box on the opposite side, however they usually call it "notching" out the chassis. hehe

when i bought mine it had a rhd steering box simply bolted to brackets welded to the chassis mitch, had absolutely no room for extractors though, so i pi55ed it off!
if custom extractors were made it woulda worked though.

My frame was notched for the box on the right as well.

So should i fix the notch?
would this affect the chassis strength in anyway?

one engineer wouldnt touch it when i went to blue slip it due to the notch.

Mines engineered and states how the conversion was performed on documentation which i had to present for the blu slip.
3 of my camaro's had the same set up and rego'd in nsw.
