I know this isn't US muscle, but it's was intersting to me.
A mate of mine sent me these pics today of some GTs that were found in a shed behind a pub in South Africa.
They reckon these are GENUINE GTs however the GTs, I've read that the GT's that went to South Africa were Fairmont GTs.
In one of the pics you'll also see what looks like a HT Monaro that was sent to South Africa as a Chevy SS. (minor differences to the Oz version)

I've been told this is fair dinkum, but you never know.

Someone has been collecting, great pics. A few of these fords and holdens probably on their way to Australia, seen the ford version and there is subtle differences to our Aussie GTs. Would be good to see other pics if you can get any.

I see the Fords from time to time at bonded warehouses. I'll take some pics next time I see some..

Good stuff.

Some funny things pop up in south Africa, they also had a version of the early 70's ford capri with a 302 instead of the 6.

There were 2 South African GT's for sale in Oz recently. Cheaper than Aussie ones but still expensive

I know a guy that has one and it is being restored at the moment. I don't remenber everything i was told but some of the thing were that they were sold as fairmonts rather than falcons due to the previous models of falcons being total lemons. Apparently they were sold as a tow pack and they were delivered with tow bars and the front towers inner guards have some cook crap welds around them to strengthen them and this is one of the ways that you can see the difference between a original GT and a south african one. May not be correct but for what it is worth i thought i would share it.

I'm not sure if the S.A. GT's got the JG33 vin # or not... I'll ask my boss... his a GT freak :p .... One of our suppliers from usa is originally a kiwi and loves his GT's... last year some time he picked up a GT from south africa and the car now resides in Chicago IL!! Pretty cool I reckon!

There is a fair bit of Aussie cars in the States, i got offered a HQ coupe back in 06 that was sitting at my mates shipping yard, he wanted 500 U.S. for the car, was complete LS model, 6 cylinder GTS dash and wheel, body was good with faded paint, probably should of bought it and sent it back home.
There is a guy in Los Angeles who has 2 XY GTHOs sitting in his showroom, mate has got the pics, have to get him to send it to me. Another guy has a HQ coupe there also, seen it on a website, cant remember which one but the car was red in colour. Toranas also.
Guy from Australia one year shipped his Vs ute over and was driving around Pomona swap meet with his Arkruba hat.
Even the odd Chryslers are there, Chargers and Chrysler by Chryslers.

I think the most random location I have seen Aussie cars in was when I seen a couple of HQ's in Indonesia! LOL

Yeah, the roadpacers are quite unique and fetch a fair dollar. There is one located at Ridley's Museum in Perth. They even have a fridge in the boot!
