That's one awesome battery.....don't laugh though I have worked extensively in India (it looks like that shot was from India). You talk work cover. My company builds and install voice and data networks. During the huge floods in Mumbai about 2 years ago (over 100 people drowned by being sucked down street drains) a customers call centre went off the air due to the equipment being in the basement and flooded. Our India guys somehow got there in 3-5 feet of water in teh street then "duck dived" down to the basement for 5 hours slowly unscrewing all the kit from the racks, took it up 3 floors dried it out with towels and industrial fans and got it all working again...only lost 2 power supplies due to shorts.
Now if anyone has seen indian streets no way I would even walk in that water let alone duck dive into it

Very india alright...though could also be somewhere in Africa...China is a modern country by comparison....nice girls too.
I read this and thought you were nuts, and then realised it was your india guys that went snorkelling in that water. It kills normal mortals. Yah mumbai is bollox in the rain.
You must work for Cisco, or Di Data or something like that.....

The 69 was on a cruise we organised up here recently.
The camaro has just arrived fairly recently in the condition in the photo's direct from the states I think (still has US rego),... as far as I know it will just be a weekend car. The pics of the camaro I didnt take myself, so Im unsure of some details.
Some things for rego will need to be changed - side intrusion bars, the roll cage and of course the NOS lines lol
They guy who bought it got it for a fairly good price I hear.
ill post up more details on it when they become available.
EDIT: http://www.geezers.com.au/archivedetails.php?id=74 looks like it was purchased from here

Hi Gav,
the wheels are costing me $2540US plus $300 each rear to cut and machine back to 9.5inch wide rather than the 19x10 so ex factory $3140US. It is an extra $75US per wheel for special finishes. If i didn't have so much chrome and polished ali i would have gone the brushed rims with the smoke finish centre. Jason is a great guy to talk to and has been fantastic to deal with to date. I think that he is extremely well respected by his peers on Lat-g so i am confident that he will do the right thing by me. If you want his contact detail PM me

Hi guys.. I stumbled across this thread.. I tune Cass' car and did the engine combo, porting, etc.
Here's a vid of the wheelstand:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPZCjwZF4fk
The car has run in the 8.90's.. I'd been warning that it was getting too high, but the air wasn't too flash on the night and we weren't expecting it that night.
The reason it didn't have wheelie bars is that's it's still kinda Street.. no race suspension.. it's still on leaf springs.

Thankyou. Your build has been a real inspiration.
rear end is all strange with wilwood brakes and santhuff shocks.
Frontend is all rebuilt.
This will be a longterm build as im doing everything myself (except paint).
Hopefully by next year have it painted candy blue with white stripes.
Ive already got convo pros for it.
The dream is a 7second street car on radials.

The brake fluid incident happened in the other shop he had about a street or two away. I saw some real seedy characters come and go while my car was there.. For example, do you remember a large guy with a brown-ish 1st Gen Firebird? Let me just say.. "Substances". :p
Tony Freeman was doing his electrical work.. Do you remember him? He seemed OK, -quite good actually. I wonder if he still has anything to do with Zop..
That pic as you will well know was taken at his brother's shop in Green St.
You can't see them in the pic, but maybe you remember up on that mezzanine down the back where the ladder is, there was a pair of Bowtie, non-hydraulic (no water jacket) aluminum BBC drag racing heads. At the time, they would have been some big money. They looked completely brand new too. I know Zop had no use for them and just assumed that they were collateral of some sort. :D
We still had a good relationship at this point. -but was short lived when he denied responsibility for the damage he did later on.
Edit: Actually he never did deny responsibility.. He just refused to pay and never showed at the claims tribunal when I thought the law was going to help me. They did absolutely nothing about it.
Somehow, I doubt I'll be attempting to go anywhere near him when my car is driving..
Instead, I think you & me need to burn up some drag strips again. Just like old times, but at the same time, this time! ;) Can't wait.
I'm in a great mood.. Those were just song lyrics for Gav. :D

Yer Dease, have lots of memories good & bad, shifties, cut & shuts etc etc, MVP just started up i guess just before i left, 1st car they imported was a faded green 68 327 camaro which they converted & painted grey, we raced that car in the back streets of richmond flat out, the other guy i worked with was Louie good guy) i know Jim ( Jimara bad guy) he worked there on the school holidays, runs black rock motors now i think , chessnut steet was behind green st i think the perice family lived there, i was there when cops in black trim with sledge hammers & big arse guns closed all surrounding streets for a massive bust, we were told to close the roller doors, that workshop was a half way house the wild stories, the weird, strange, normal, famous people we meet @ 19 yo what buzz, the other work shop run by shifty wogs was Shift-O-Matics: AKA Shifties eek:, plenty of action @ cherry tree hotel 2:D

The orange car was rebuilt, as we know, and has the engine in it from this blue ZL1.
The engine from the orange ZL1 was probably scrapped after many years of racing injuries. (I remember seeing a ZL1 block at Crankshaft Rebuilders years ago and offered to buy it. My offer was low due to the amount of welding, machining and recoiling that had been done to it, and the machining that still would have been required. My offer was refused. -This could have been the block from the Orange ZL1.)
The orange car was a serious hack-job too. Although it's an "original" ZL1, not really very much of it is original to the car at all. It's value is in it's racing history.

This is true. It was put in a 70 Camaro of Frank Gardner and won the British Touring Car Championship in 73. From there the history is cloudy.

I am totally amazed (and a little embarrassed :o) that this water pump was able to actually circulate water around the V6 S/charged engine in my Statesman and keep it cool -no hotter than the thermostat temp and even while towing a near complete Blackout on a 750kg tandem 200ks on the open road.
I had an inconsistant heating issue that would come and go at idle, which made me only consider the pump, but not pin-point it.
Today, in a process of elimination (and frustration) I decided to remove it with a new replacement standing by.
Bloody Hell!

It was circulating it.. Not very well of course, but it was. When the temp would raise up, only when stationary (but not always when stationary), I would select neutral, bring the revs to about 2K and the temp would fall very quickly back down the the normal running temp. These 2 reasons are why I thought the pump was working. The fact that the car could sit stationary for long periods with a such an inefficient pump shows how much capacity the cooling system must have in these cars.
Not a sacrificial impeller, but it was a poorly maintained cooling system and probably been cavatating with air in the system. Cavatation kills impellers.

Valid point but the way you capture the mopar is amazing and always get the right angle and background as once person told me once a good pictures becomes great with a good backdrop
Thanks for the complements. I suppose in most cases I just get lucky. I would have taken 15 of just this one shot in varying angles , distances etc. This was the only one that was worth using.
Guess if you take that many attempts at a shot, you're bound to get 1 right :D

Would love to be able to take pic's like that but my patience will not allow me.....
Thought I'd get down to the Hawkesbury River at the break of dawn for some nice backdrop shots - but it was wet & miserable.
