I know we all love pics. A couple from today. Very close to being finished now but one small problem.....run out of money! Dont know when Im going to have the folding stuff to get the engineers report done. Cant hit the credit cards coz theyre all maxed out! So close yet so far :( and now Im going big block thats going to slow things down again. Picked up a block, a steel crank and a pair of ported big valve oval port heads that the guy made 434 rwkw with for my baby 427. money money money

Yes it is. Spray Chief Candy Apple. The photos dont capture how nice this paint is though. I like it better at night, goes a deep cherry colour :)

Mate, that is HOT. Congratulations and well done so far. You have gone the same direction I am going with my 68 (cowl hood, no spoilers or stripes, de-chromed, 15" Wheels, etc) and if it ends up half as good as yours, I'll be happy.

You know, you could always sell a kidney.....

Dave,
Looking good.
It's either one or the other. Money or time.
I don't know about you but I rarely seem to have enough money and enough time simultaneously.:(
Patience is a key part of car building.

Yeah Nev I know but its been five long years now and Im not getting any younger. I wish now that Id bought a running car and just changed things as I could afford it. At least then Id be driving instead

no they were on a 496. Still thats a decent amount of horsepower through oval port heads :)

to save some cash why don't you drop a stock motor in, get it engineered and rego'd then drive it for a bit while you sort the big block out.

Seems to be the thing to do, run out of money when its so close to completion.. I know the feeling... I just hate spending the last few dollars on mine.

Is there a difference between 'completion' and getting it 'driveable'... There always seems to be money to spend on these things. The list of things I want is as long as my arm.

Completion is like the pot of gold under the rainbow.

JJ theres nothing wrong with the motor thats in there. The engineers report is all to do with the conversion.

Your dead right there. Now theres the big block and then I want mini tubs to get more rubber under there for the look Im after. Caltracs, Frame connectors......
