I had a pair of Competition Engineering bolt-on connectors and they required the floor to be modified for them to fit!
Parts should suit the cars they were made for and not the other way around..
I still have them I think if you want because I ended up making my own.

..I'll have a look.

Yeah, I still have them..

They have the pads welded to the sides of them for the traction bars I have to push against.. They can be removed easily (by me) if you want.

Here is what I made.. They conform to the shape of the floor (and not the other way around!!)

Anyway Mitch.. Want 'em? :)

Not good news. I have Competition Engineering connectors I was going to fit one day. What modifications needs to be done to the floor :(

Hammer, mallet, sledge.. Something big & heavy.

I would suggest having your CE connectors modified, or make up a pair like I did. Please don't bend up perfectly good sheetmetal.
The only reason I did is because my floors were already dented in that area. I've since had my panel guy restore their shape and that's how they'll stay.;)

Hey Steve,

Yeah man I'm interested....

Going to have to cut mine off so and don't really want to have to weld them back on. So flick me a price and I'll see what happens.

Thanks Steve.

Yes please Steve. I only have slapper bars and they hit under the spring, so no need for the pads...

Cheers for that mate, your a champ...

PM your bank details and I may be able to do a transfer whilst at work? Do you think they would be able to be sent via Aus Post?

Aust Post providing they are less than a meter in length.. They are certainly under the 20Kg limit.. I'll see if I can get you a quote.

Edit:
On line calculator ..somewhere between $35 & $50. I haven't packaged them yet to get an accurate idea of weight..

.and they're 970mm in length, so they'll be within the 1050mm limit when boxed. ;)

i just fitted these hotchkis frame connectors, they are not cheap but a quality product, no need to modify the floor.

That car certainly is a mess... Looks to have been pulled from a forest somewhere judging by all the stuff growing on it.

Depending on the tags, some crazy Yank will have a go at restoring that... If you could call replacing every part with repro stuff restoring....

Sorry to be taking so long Mitch.. I have removed the "pads" and am currently paint stripping them by soaking in caustic soda for a few days prior to a fresh coat of PPG's GM satin black.;)

Man, you're getting your $50 worth!! :p :D

It does sound like it!!

The longer you take the better Steve... I might have my shed built by then and I won't have to grovel around on stands to fit them. I could do it on my newly acquired hoist!! I wish!!!

Thanks mate, I appreciate it! :D :D

If I remember correctly, this was for sale a few years ago and it was supposed to be an 'original' Z28 with all tags. If it's the same car they wanted a few grand for it as it sits.
