Gday all,

Just wanna say great site by the way - looks awesome - all **** and balls - very very nice!!!!! :)
Good job SirGeo and Mozzie!!!

Well just posting in this section to see if anyone knows where I can grab a decently priced gear reduction started that's decent quality.

I've found some units for $180 or so but been told to avoid them as they're cheapo.

Eagle Spares has 'top of the line' units for $360 but I'm trying to avoid that sort of spending.

Ebay is being no help either.

If anyone knows of a good joint to grab a decent unit from give me a holla pwetty pweeze.

Thanks!!!

Did you try contacting that place in Narre Warren(VIC)? i know they make them and sell them to Eagle Spares... (atleast thats what they said)....

They usually have a stall at the sandown swap meet.. Get my brother to give you their contact details...

And get one of those relays installed.. you saw how much it helped my brothers car....

Also when you gonna put up pics of your Trans-Am :p

Yeah that'd be great Epitaph - any help would be appreciated mate!!!

And SirGeo - I'll get around to putting up some pics of the 'Am just gotta compile some pics. I'll do a little 'blog' on it. Also your bro is still trying to dig up the number of that starter motor place but I don't think he's found it yet.

AAAHHHHH HAAAAA i found it!!!!
The place sells a few things eg. motors, dizzy's, carbies, etc...and the business name is called "Engine Centre" in Narreeeee Warren (VIC), 390 Pound Rd, (03) 8790 5942.

Call em up and see if they can help you out SirNicko...i remember the brand name of em where called 'Hi-Torque Starter'...(or something along those lines)

As brother geo said they usually have a stall at sandown if you dont want to make the track down there...but anyway worth giving them a call...

Well I just picked up one of those gear reduction units. I was getting 'ants in my pants' so decided to step out and pick one up.

Will fit it tonight if I can be bothered. This thing better work or the car's gonna get a tin of petrol and a match.......

So all went in well? easy to install or you have to put heaps of shims to get it sitting right?

Yah I fiited it in on Wed. Didn't need to use shimming plates - it fit right in place nice and snug.

Works pretty well too. Kicks it over first time every time - even after 20 - 30 consecutive hot starts - didn't miss a beat. They're gutsy littel things. A 720A battery is going in today and that will be that - no more starting woes!!
