View Full Version : How do I tell if I have a reall SS camaro...??

Found a website on the net at http://www.camaros.org/index.shtml that has a program that when you put all the info of vin numbers etc, it tells me what my car was optioned with...

But how do I tell if its a real Camaro???

Below is a copy and paste of what it came out with... Does not say if its a 327 or what though!!

1 = Chevrolet
2 = Camaro
4 = 8-cylinder engine
37 = coupe body
7 = 1967 model year
L = Los Angeles, CA assembly plant (Van Nuys)
123617 = vehicle serial number sequence

Decode for body number: 009551

11E = Built the Fifth week of November.
67-12637 = Custom Interior Coupe.
LOS = Built in Van Nuys California.
779 = Custom Turquoise Bucket Seats.
Z = (A50) Strato Bucket Seats (without headrests).
K-K = Car Color is Emerald Turquoise
A128 = internal plant scheduling code.
Options:
1E = (A01) Tinted All Glass
2E = (C60) Air Conditioner
2M = (M35) Powerglide Transmission
2G = (D55) Console front compartment
5Y = (A39) Belts All Deluxe

I'm sure it is a real Camaro, I've seen the pics :p

I know FA about Camaro's, didn't the '67 SS's have a 12 bolt, 350, and a P ion the trim tag?

you dont have any group 4 codes which relate to the performance models.67 ss cars only came with 350 and 396 motors.
