Autometer Tacho

My Tacho reads 500rpm when the engine is turned off but appears ok when engine is fired up. Is this normal ?? Or is it likely to be not reading right at revs ?

Yep its perfectly normal. I read about it in their instal instructions when I got mine and its supposed to be like that. This is what mine reads with the engine off. It changes too. I think it depends what revs the motor is doing when you turn it off
