I'm not going to butcher it, I would just prefer to have the full glass windows... I just want to know if 68 doors and glass will bolt on and lin up etc?? I will keep the original doors.. Its just that I found a power window kit to suit 68 doors... There is a kit to suit 67 but I still just want full glass..
So does anyone know if they will fit?

As Jim says...massive massive job. Hinges are different and in different locations which is the first and most difficult challenge, but there are other issues also

I love the fact that they dropped the quarters after the 67s and that is what makes the 68s look so fantastic. I would go with your gut and do what it takes. Customising old cars is not meant to be easy but that is why it is worth it. Sorry to the 67 fans:)

Well to be honest I can't see why they would have changed where the hinges were on the doors between the 67 and 68 models... seems strange... Is there anyone who is 100% certain they are different??
Thanks guys.... I'm gonna go with my gut!!

Damb it!!
OK thanks!
One more thing.... I have all the bits needed to convert my 67 to a RHD.. Do you know anyone in Sydney who would be best to do all the cutting and welding etc..? I want it to be as perfect as possible. I called a gent at some chev place in hornsby who does a lot of corvette conversions and he sounded pretty confident.. Any other thoughts anyone??
Thanks in advance!

Don't know about Sydney (even though I grew up there), Kurt maybe able to help.
Back on your doors. I am certain cause I wanted to do the exact same thing and spent ages investigating it....it can be done but it is a lot of work...massive.
I love:
67 for the clean sides...ie no side markers
68 for no vent window
69 for front RS grille
So I bought a 68, removed the side markers.
Now I am thinking of doing a 69 RS grille on it...thinking....it can be done but I probably won't do it in the end I suspect I will go with a 68 custom billet grille (maybe).
Anyway, changing the doors is difficult....but not impossible.....but expect to spend $$$ getting there

Well I don't want to have to chop anything up so am just going to leave it at this stage...
Thanks so much mate, appreciate it.....
Just bought this thing from Geezers in QLD and it hasn't even turned up yet..
I'm 29 and have wanted one since I was about 12yo and just want it to be perfect!

That would be Geoff Sutherland right ?
I worked for him for a while and he does excellent work if you're not in a hurry  anyway, he does C5 and C6 vettes, 80s on F bodies and I've even seen a DeLorian in there getting done, so I'm sure a 67 camaro wouldn't be a challenge for him at all.
Why are you getting it converted ?

Cool, well I'm glad it will be a good job...
I think I would be more comfortable in a rhd car.. I want to keep this thing the rest of my life and I want to suit it to me if that makes sense..
The old girl turned up today and she's got a few blemishes and I have soooooo many questions.
Like where the f#*k is the bonnet release...?
Does anyone else feel like the seat does not go back far enough??
Does anyone know of a good and easy seat to replace the standard ones?? Will keep standard ones of course, but just thinking of an alternative for day to day use... maybe 69 seats with a head rest??
Found a thing on ebay that will allow you to move the seats a further 2" back...

Hi Chris,
Have you found who makes the 68 billet grills taillights and fuel caps?

If you've never driven a LHD car over here before for any length of time I can understand your concern.
It takes a little getting used to, but after a while you'll probably re think the conversion idea.
Geoff does a nice job, but no conversions are perfect or "mirror image" and you'll probably have to kiss
the factory air goodbye.
Camaros are relatively small and easy to drive in traffic compared to full size cars and there's plenty of caddy's and impala's etc. driving around, still LHD without any hassles.
Ask the owners of LHD cars at shows etc. and I'll bet the majority say "don't do it !"
It's not realy going to be worth anymore if you want to sell it down the track because it's RHD
It's now the reverse (with the rarer big block, SS and Z28 examples etc.) Being converted is considered "butched" and given the choice most collectors prefer original unmolested LHD cars
I know people who (as we speak) are converting their cars back to LHD because they are worth more.
At the end of the day it's your car and only you have to be happy with it, I'm just trying to give you all the information I can so you can make the right decission that suits you.
If you do choose to convert it over then I would go with a rack and pinion set up rather than the old school HQ-WB steering box, no chassis hacking involved and a much better road feel.
I would put it on Historic rego first, drive it around and see if you get used to it or not.
Yep, you're right.
There's not enough legroom if you're 6ft or more in a camaro, but if you can buy a kit to relocate the seats further back, I'd try that.

I've been driving a LHD car for nearly 12 years now, i have 2 of them, and it is fairly easy to get used to. I only really use them on the weekends so i never considered converting them and i would agree with anychevy in that after your are used to it you will re think the idea as well.
I would only consider it if you plan on using your Camaro as a daily driver and spending a lot of time going to and from work in peak hour traffic otherwise i would say "don't do it".
just my .02c worth :)
