View Full Version : Here's my 67 Camaro
454 NUTTR

Purchased the Camaro in Feb 2008 as a rolling shell with brand new front clip, interior, new chrome and stainless steel moulding. Its a reasonably straight shell and very dry. Factory colour was white with deluxe blue interior. 327 2speed powerglide car.
My intentions for the car is to go 454 Big Block with edelbrock heads and airgap manifold, turbo 400, 9inch diff, wheel tubs, old school pro street look with centreline autodrag satins with 15 x 10's and 26 x 12.5 x 15 rear and 15 x 4's and 165 tyres, slightly peaked in the front to give the squatted fat look in the rear and get it as low as possible. Keeping the interior standard just adding autometer guages and B&M Quicksilver Shifter, Auto will be shift kitted with a nice stall but not over the top. will run 3.55 gears.
Not looking to build a killer Engine, just something good, sharp, and respectable.

These are pictures of how the car is going to sit, to make it sit like this i have to cut out the bumpstop that hits the top of the diff and move it up 4 inches to give clearance and probobly the tunnel as well. After this the exhaust and tailshaft to be made, stripped back to bare shell and then to soda blasting and then to get it in to the panel shop. Hoping to jump the queue!

I have a little more time these days to play with my toys but I don't like laying on cold concrete in the winter, so I look at a few Car photos or magazines look at the calender (need to get this going by summer) and off to the shed I go.
Time and money, it's rare that we have both at the same time!

pissed now. was at panel shop on friday and cant get car in til January. Running out of things to do. Its at exhaust shop at the moment, running the hooker extractors and goin 3" with straight through mufflers, dumped and flanged so i can run tail pipes for roadworthy. AFter roadworthy taking tail pipes off and throwing them up the back of the shed! Might look at modifying the rotisserie to suit camaro!

Seems it actually paid off! Eventually it will be silver. But i will check out some other colours up at summernats.

i was waiting 4 sum one to pick it up. i got on to castle auto electrics here in vic they have a universal cable wiper kit, 3 speed with intermittant, like they use in rods about $400 easy to work out, but in a camaro about 2 days work a fair bit of modifying to make it work but i had to get that wiper motor out of there. Looks alot cleaner now.

I haven't seen it installed but will get pics and shoot them over.

I didn't run an original set up. Got this from a company called Specilty Power Windows out of Georgia in the states. Pretty sure they have a local agent. We mounted the motor on a plate under the dash so can still get at it. They do all sorts of stuff like this including full billet wiper arms ect.
Set my wiper arms up so there mounted on the far outside of the cowl and the arms pull swipe in from the center out just for something diffrent.

looking good, like the silver on silver.
What is the focus: show, street, burnout car, or drags.

thanks guys silver on silver has been the plan when i first picked up the car 3 year ago. now im seeing it all come together its great cos lve built it so many times in my head (mining camp's not alot to do) as for drag or show i built it as a nice cruiser for things like rod runs will put it down a strip and see what it run's. im sick of buildng then selling so this time l'm keeping it and having some fun
