I think they maxed out entries a few weeks ago as i heard through another car forum. SHould be a good day... we need more of these!

TUFF68

They must still be taking entries as they cashed my cheque last thursday. According to their website there is no limit to the number of entries, which could be a bad thing considering Motorvation gets over 1200 applications and we are starved of events such as this over here in the wild west. I'm predicting well over 1000 entries and many hours spent waiting in pit lane to get on the track.

not yet, should be fine from what i have been told, waiting for front coil overs to arrive and have to install disc brakes to the front , rebuild kit and mufflers then im ready.
im at uni so its hard to find time! but using power cruise as a "needs to be done for it" kind of excuse.
from what i hear though utes are classified as light commercial.. which there are not too many rules for! aka all the rules are written for small passenger vehicles. But i need to clarify this.
anyone heard of this?

some nice muscle there, a few blown BB's about 5? 67-69 camaro's which were all nice, one sbc entered burnout comp.
way too many holden ss utes with the normal tune, chip and wheels (there was some hot ones also)
way too many hack cars, and not sleeper style. just old slightly modded cars but i guess it is a cruise and not a show as much.

I like'd the concept of being able to walk through the ingrid and stand at the fence for the cruises, also being able to take rides with drivers !

all in all
should have been $25 not $35 :)

Just got off the phone to my best mate who entered and he came 4th in the burnout comp in his Supersix Calais... Maroon VS for those that were there.

Not a bad effort up against the V8's... Blew his radiator in the heats (had a new one with him incase) and also a coolant fitting. Replaced them and then the car was running on 5 cylinders under load, replaced the plugs and all with 2 minutes to spare before the finals.

Best thing about it is that he drove it from Kalgoorlie to Perth and will drive it back to Kal again tomorrow. 1200klm round trip!

Awesome event, had a great time. got a real buzz thrashing the car around the track, especially in the first cruise session on sunday with a wet track - that was fun :D :D . Went in my 1st burnout comp and made it in the top 20 finals along with 2 other 68 Camaro's. Pad was little small but managed to avoid the barriers and the sand pit. Did a bit of paint damage to the bottom of the rear quarter's though with the steel belts, :( Got knocked out in the 2nd round of the street racing, spun the wheels a bit too much off the line and could'nt quite catch him.

As for pics, i will post up the websites from the official photographers that were there. i spoke to one photographer who flew over from melbourne and he and his partner took about 4000 photo's between them and they will on his website tommorrow. If you do a search on youtube under Powercruise there are some videos on their already.

Cluxford, there were a couple of Merlin 632 cubers there doing some awesome powerskids

Would love to see how your new combo goes down the track Sean, but unfortunately i can't make it down for a look tonite. I was planning on racing this Friday nite (1st of the Fast Friday series) but cant make that either, and just to top off my bad luck i can't make it down to the burnout comp on saturday nite as well. On the other hand it's probably a good thing though as 2 days at powercruise and then 3 nites at the motorplex in the one week would'nt go down too well with my wife :D

Yes, Wild 68 is the same car from the last couple of Motorvations. I spoke with the owner, Jamie, a few times over the weekend and left a message for him through Youtube to join us on the forum.

saw comments about my car n thought i would join.

i have wild 68 and it was at motorvation 21 and it did have 2 lobes wiped off the cam, (engine made 452hp on chaistys dyno prior to the event) and the first time i drove it was the friday b4. its all learning hey. just costs too many dollars.

the car is finally going well, and i reckon powercruise is the best event as an entrant i have been to, with a bit more organization next year wil be even better.

gotta find a heap of pics and put em up in the build up section when i get a chance.
got a 383 with forgies, h-beams, edelbrock victor jr heads, super victor intake, 850 demon and a big solid cam, made 452 at flywheel when it was 350 with same combo so now i reckon itll have about 480 and a bit more torque.
trans is t350 reverse manual with heaps of tci gear built by veersma, i put a jw ultrabell on it after i broke 2 cases at the bell housing, got a big tailshaft down to a strange full spool nine inch with moser axles n 4.11s. got a TCE 4500 converter but i reckon its jumped to 5000plus with the stroker. i also fitted crs rack including shortening the column and fabbed up a custom shaft.
i have done all the work my self except for the g/box.
gonna take it down the drags over the next couple weeks see what it does, hoping for high 11 on street tyres :D ( ill give the 22s a go and take sum 15's)

Court on the 24th of December he rekons. Gotta wait for the summons to appear to find out more...

What happened Mitch ?

Would you believe having a novelty number plate on the car?

Then they started on about contraviening the conditions of the Permit as I was getting milk at the servo and my permit did not stipulate that movement on it.

They were then going to do my mate for street drinking as he had a can of Cougar on him (even though he was in the car).

The worst thing about it all is that I knew they were there and was putting around like an old mole not do anything wrong (well so I thought) and I was also nice to the fella, the plate was one of those $10 novelty jobbies which apparently is a MAJOR traffic offense resulting in court action and possible loss of license plus a fine and court costs... Go figure! So he confiscated my plates and the courts will stipulate whether or not they will be returned to me or if they will be disposed of in the appropriate manner... WHO CARES!!!!

So no fine was issued and no paper work was given... I dunno if he was having a lend or not.... Obviously not cause he is a copper and apparently doesn't have a funny bone in his body. Coulda just said that he'd take them and throw them in the bin.....

You would think the courts would have better things to do? I coulda been chucking a burnout or sumthing to make the story a bit more riveting eh :D

So after he made a prick of himself all he wanted to do was talk about the car!!!

Mitch

lol interesting story. The fact that no fine was issued or any paperwork was given to you for that matter sort of suggests that nothing more will eventuate out of this. Are the courts even open on Christmas eve ? As for confiscating the novelty plates and then showing an interest in your car also suggests to me that the plates are probably now hanging from his garage wall :)

TUFF68, You may have different rules in WA to SA but I ended up in court and had a loss of license (only 7 days) and approx $500 fine about 3 months after an "incident".
I received my summons via registered mail.
Mitch, I hope this is the last you hear of it but you may yet hear more if they work in similar ways to SA.:(

Mrs is preggers n due on 10th October so i cant really see myself there:cool:

I also was thinking of not goin because of how much it is to enter as i believe they are making way 2 much money out of us! Apparently a sponsor has pulled out because last year they gave em 3 grand and this year they want 10!!!! cant name the sponsor but..

Well, I might even have a driveable and show worthy car for this year.. That's if I can get it all back together in time.
