So im at crossroads at the moment...
With my RS it was running a 4 speed muncie.. i still have to decypher the codes for ratios etc..
But I know PPG does 1-4 dog gears that fit to the 'box and it will be very bullet proof for track work.. but i cant help thinking for 5k i can get the TKO conversion or 7k ish a T56... its all too hard!!
I know that with the muncie its piss easy to overhaul and i have no worries on modifying crossmember etc.

maybe i can gauge some pros and cons from you guys!

Cheers,

Muggz

Muggz, I bought a tko600 plus kit from Classic 5 speed. The tko600 will take 600HP and has a tall first. Kit included everything to fit a first gen- bellhousing, clutch, crossmember, flywheel.mount etc. Even got the speedo cable to suit the diff ratio of my choice

Service was excellent :)

Cheers for that! they have some good deals going down there. I used to run a TKO 3550 in my old 'vette nice short throw shifting was definately a winner in my books.. looks like the 6 speed is reasonably priced too!

Do you remember the final costs including landing, taxes etc?

I bought the Elite TKO 600 kit US$3595 plus the additional 550hp Mcleod clutch $345. Didnt take the tailshaft but bought the yoke.
Havent kept the invoice as I dont want the missus to find out, a practice I started years ago after a  Amazing how cheap my car parts are now :D

Pete Smith at Eastcoast Mustang and Camaro shipped the lot for me with some cars, but you would want someone in WA.
Classic 5 speed are in California which helps. My guess is I landed the lot for around US$4500 which is good value I reckon. If your RS is LH drive everything fits :)
