Does anyone have an alternative wiper motor instead of the original bulky one? I'm after a more sleeker and smaller one to tidy up my engine bay. Any Ideas?

What i've done is had a bracket welded inside of my cowl panel and installed a datsun ZZZ motor. we had to muck around getting it in the exact place so the wipers would sweep the correct distances both ways.It seemed to work well when we tried it a few times, The only thing is the car isnt going yet and i havent tried it in real conditions.
So now i've welded up all of the holes and that indent on the firewall so its completely flat now. I think it looks heaps better

The Detroit Speed is a nice yet expensive piece.. I was almost about to buy one when I realized no washer pump.
For that money, I kept my original.

You could try what the bloke on Team Camaro has done with his 68 rebuild, pics about halfway down the page, looks clean.

No problem. Their response is normally excellent.

Though as BlackOutSteve notes....they are a "top end" outfit. They are one of the top shops in the US. :D

I bought a surplus Ford or Toyota setup....whether I will ever get it fitted properly is another story....though I have no real intention of driving my car in the rain. :)

So my factory one will probably live on.

That build is something else......that wiper motor location is very innovative. I like.

blackoutsteve thanks i hear what u are saying yes expensive just for a wiper. I'd have to have one of them water pumps that go on the washer tank to get by.
