Does the bellcrank (Z Bar) need to be changed when doing a SB to BB conversion in a first gen Camaro
Assuming the frame mounts are changed to the correct type moving the BB over the RH side

Anyone done this conversion in a manual car ?? Maybe the bar can be modded to fit ??
Havent started the conversion yet just covering all bases before hand :)

The BB & SB bell cranks are different as that link has pointed out, but with regards to your conversion, to make things a lot easier..
Why don't you leave your clutch linkages exactly where they are run a cable from the new RHD clutch pedal location to the existing clutch linkage?
This can be a discrete cable that loops down between the engine and crossmember.

I have a friend with with set up in a 67 Conv, and it's so simple. It uses all off-the-shelf clutch parts and the cable can be made very easily and relatively cheaply too.
You'll just need to fab a couple of brackets for the cable.

I'm sure Pete will chime in here but his car is LHD and staying that way from what I understand.

For anyone doing this swap the SB Z bar is 9" long and the BB Z bar is 9.5 ". Also the 502 has no boss for the ball stud and you need to make a bracket or Classic Chevy 5 Speed have a kit #502- kit for US$69.

Oh yeah, is your 502 a Gen V or VI?
