What do you guys think about clones or copies :( My Camaro has Z28 badges with front and back spoilers, but is really just a stocker. The Joe public wouldnt have a clue and it looks the part, but is it really just wank
I guess every XY GT falcon is now a :) HO !!
With US cars very few people are in know about original or not.
What do ya reckon ??

It all depends I suppose.. I'm not against clones, as long as you don't genuinly try and pass it off as an original if you try and sell it, or are questioned about it…

If you make it to a clone and make it look good.. Good on ya I say.. ;) Make it how you want it…

My car also has Z/28 stripes at the moment (bought like that) and are staying for now. Many people have varied opinions on this and each to thier own but if you want my two cents worth it really comes down to the wording used. I think there is a big difference between a 'copy' and a 'clone'. A copy to me might have the right badges and paint and maybe wheels but a clone to me is more technically correct with attention to the smallest details. A good clone might only be recognisable by the numbers. Either way, copy, clone, custom or original.... muscle is muscle.

I don't mind clones.. like steve said as long as you don't try and sell it as the real thing then whatever floats your boat...

I'll say one thing and I don't know if any of yous have noticed this but I seem to see alot of 1st gen camaros with Z28 runway stripes and SS badges.... that just gets to me for some reason... LOL

Agree, clones are cool as long as positioned as clones.....some people would love a yenko but us mere mortals will never be able to afford it, so no issues building 1, just say it's a clone.

To me every mans car is his car, how he builds it is up to him and we should all respect it's what he wants and it's his hard earned being pumped into it......

I again dont mind clones when i was looking in the states to buy my 69 ss camaro they are every where you look, I dont like it when they are trying to sell them as genuine z 28 or ss. It comes dont to if every car was the same it would be a boring world we live in.
And by the way im sorry if my genuine ss has z 28 strips instead of the genuine strips i just like them better.

i dont mind clones as long as they are sold and listed as the original issue off the factory floor not claiming to be the fair dinkum version etc etc. i would love genuine cars, but when some are commanding 100k + .. i think a clone will still have that novelty.

always wanted a '69 yenko camaro ... but a clone is the right way to go, especially when you can get all repro stripes, emblems which are near or even better than the quality of the 60's :D

at the end of the day, each to their own.. you want a z28 cross SS cross with RS .. by all means do it, then post up pics :D

I don't like clones, i think they can spoil the scene. But i can understand why people would build and buy them.
