Well like that song goes "What's my age again?"

Was just curious to know the ages of the members on this board that actually "own" a US muscle car...... I gotta hand it to Steve (sirgeo) I really enjoy this board and alot of that has to do with everyone on here been mature, helpful and friendly overall..... getting sick of all these other forums you know.... Its good to come on a forum where everyone gets along....

So how old are ya? Me I'm young... I feel like I'm 45 but I am only 23....as you can see I have heaps of sh*t on my plate...

Anyway just striking up conversation..... fire away.

23? you serious? i pegged you for late 20's at least :p

Me, I turn 27 this year... although physically i feel 50+ with my bad back and leg.. although mentally, my fiance says i'm 12 so i guess it evens it all out :p

And have to agree, i know end of the day i can come to this site and know i don't have to moderate any threads/posts... ;) Might not be the busiest forums, but it has less allot less "crap"...

Yup turning 24 in september...... Its kinda odd you know but hot rodders and muscle cars guys are a cool bunch of people generally and not the type to turn their noses up at you cos of your age or what have you...... Plus I am a family man these days.. so I gotta settle down right ? I'm old in the head... well until the weekend this is LOL

SirGeo

lol.. totally agree.. it's a good mix of ages in the rodding and muscle car scene. I think the older group appreciate the young blood coming onto the scene with the new ideas keeping it all going. You get a few that stick to ideals of what the car should look like, but they can generally accept any new ideas.. And the younger guy's can sit and appreciate what was done before them and learn from it...

And no one holds your age against you.. unless you're me and hanging out with the marsh rodders (sorry private joke :p ).

Timing......

Yesterday I was 34......today I turned 35....

Good to see such a mix of ages, to me age is nothing it's all about your passion for the car. I love this board to cause the guy on it are interested in open honest discussion and love their cars....they aren't interested in a pissing contest.

Oh by the way my DSE tubs and sub frame connectors arrived this week, will post pics on weekend. And the car final leaves for the panel shop on Fri.

At 33 i think i am in the middle of the age band but i tell you guys i feel old when i have to sit and think about how old i am, you know do the math ( the year we are in minus year i was born then double check it, then still not sure then check with the calculator still not 100 percent then have to ask the wife for verification then after all that lay down for a few minutes and rest, it was tough.

69Coupe, thank god we are in the minority, as the young guns are the future of the hobby, and from what I can see on this forum its lookin good for the future! :D

Wife says I act 17, Feel 21 when my back is OK, and volunteered for Vietnam tour every Month when I was in the RAAF.

I'll quote a line from a great movie (American Graffiti) "where were you in 62 ?"
Yep, I'll be 45 next month, feel 55 on a good day but it could be worse though right ?
Great forum, no BS (well, maybe a little) Great mix of people and cars which should be growing at a healthy rate now the buck is worth US 92c and rising !

If you are 30 or older you will think this is hilarious but so true!!!!

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears
with their tedious diatribes about how hard things
were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning . uphill BOTH ways. Yadda, yadda, yadda..........
And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it! But now that... I'm
over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but
look around and notice the youth of today. You've
got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood,
you live in a damn Utopia!

And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't
know how good you've got it! I mean, when I was a
kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to
know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!
There was no email!! We had to actually write
somebody a letter with a pen! Then you had to
walk all the way across the street and put it in the
mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!

There were no MP3's or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up!

We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you
were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it! And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video
games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the
Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and
'asteroids' and the graphics sucked a$$! Your guy
was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination! And there were no multiple levels or screens it was just one screen forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!

When you went to the movie theater there no such
thing as stadium seating! All the seats were the
same height! If a tall guy or some old broad with a
hat sat in front of you and you couldn't see, you
were just screwed!

Sure, we had cable television, but back then that
was only like 15 channels and there was no onscreen
menu and no remote control! You had to use a little
book called a TV Guide to find out what was on!
You were screwed when it came to channel surfing!
You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV
to change the channel and there was no Cartoon
Network either! You could only get cartoons on
Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We
had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled
little rat-b@stards!

And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up.We had to use the stove or go build a frigging fire... imagine that! If we wanted
popcorn, we had to use that stupid Jiffy Pop thing
and shake it over the stove forever like an idiot.

That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids
today have got it too easy. You're spoiled.
You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in
1980!

Regards,
The Over 30 Crowd
