I'm looking at purchasing a 69 camaro in the near future, just wondering if a 15X10" wheel will fit on the back (with a 15X4 on the front), not sure of backspacing requirements. If the 15X10 will fit, what will be the largest tyre that can be fitted? I'm talking stock guards, no mini tubs.

going for that pro stock look without having to butcher the guards.

Yes the rear will swallow a 10" Radial no worries!

A 15x10 with a back-spacing of around 5.5" should fit. It will of course depend on if the rear axle is the correct 60.5" flange to flange width for Camaros. (Lot's have non-original 10, 12 bolts or 9"s.)
The easy way to check is to remove your wheels and drop a string-line down to the floor and chaulk the flange points and measure. Then the points of inner-most, outer-most and drum/disc flange for max tyre size and best back-spacing..

Generally, a 15x8 with a 4.5" back-space is perfect for 1st Gens. (Corvette 15x8 Rallies are a 4" BS. ;) )

Forgetting tread width, the maximum section width of the tyre would be around 11.5".

15x4 on the front would not be any problem at all.

I dont know about 69's but Im pretty sure you wont fit a 295 under a 67 without tubs. Especially being lowered. With the 275's I have about 5mm between the tyre and inside of the wheel well.

sweet, any external pics, 3/4 shots, showing how it fills the guards, or even rear shots

The car is set up high at the moment for rego. When the body is over the tyre I have about 10mm between it and the rolled gaurd 731

I'm running 275's by 15" on my 69. Average pics but should give you an idea how they fill the gaurd. Something to note though, with the standard leaf rear end, when turning into a steep driveway or incline and one wheel wants to push up into the gaurd I sometimes get some tyre rub on the inner gaurd even with 275's.

Haha, I had the same problem with a 120Y panel van with 235's on the rear. It used to lock up when going up a driveway on an angle, but it looked tuff with the width plus it's matt blue paint... Fully sick rat rod!!!!:D
