Hi fellow petrolheads. Im a new member, thought Id share my story to anyone whose interested. Loved American Muscle since I was a kid when I saw Aloha Bobby And Rose at the drive in when I was 17. That 302 sounded sooo sweet. After having owned Aussie muscle cars over the years I was finally able to afford my own 67 Camaro. Bought 5yrs ago now ,freshly imported from the states it was in very average condition. A black RS advertised as a big block car, the motor and trans had been cut out of something else and thrown in the engine bay on a couple of blocks of wood. The price was right though at 10,500. I planned to spend about 20 grand and neaten it up and drive it left hand drive. That didnt work out. I stopped counting at 50 grand and that was a long time ago! Now its right hand drive, candy apple red, 17" and 16" Billet Specialties wheels, mild 355 built to take a bit of ZEX nitrous, full manual turbo 350, 9" diff with a Strange centre and Moser 31 spline axles, Autometer gauges, Pro-Ratchet shifter. Took it in last week to get the wiring done then its off to the upholsterer. So it will finally be on the road this year. Yay! Once I figure out how to upload pictures on the site that arent too large I'll share those with you ( I'm new to this computer stuff ). Anyway thats my story. Im glad I found this site its great seeing all the different rides people have. Chev Ford or MoPar. Love em. Cheers, Dave. A few crappy photos here off my phone

Welcome to the forum Dave. 67 looks gorgeous. Aloha Bobby n Rose was an early inspiration to me too. Though I am not targetting either the flares or the ending. Finally got to my Camaro almost a year ago. A 68 with a 454 & TH400 dropped in. Not quite on wood blocks, but not quite in the right place either. 454 out, late model LSX 6 litre going in.
Cheers.

Thanks RSZ28. Pictures dont do it justice at all. LSX6litre hey. I would of loved to do that. Often thought about it with an underbonnet blower but money money money. We can only do what we can sort of afford. You'll have to keep us posted about the installation. Youtube have a video of an Aloha Bobby and Rose replica. They used a 383 instead of the 302 though.

Do we need a poll to figure out what cars are on here? Is that something that needs to come from admin/moderation, or can a forum member open up a poll?

Anyone should be able to open a poll.... Just create a new thread and scroll down to the "Post a Poll" option. ;)
