Pick up the plates (Club rego) today at Vic Roads
Still has the 327 and the muncie and drives like a dream. Will get the Disc brakes fitted in 2-3 weeks then the 9 " diff, BB and tremic go in. Might have to wait a little to let the wallet recover
Very happy boy :D :D :D :D :D :D

Ok got my Club Reg plates today, interesting but no mention of stamp duty and I didnt say anything thats for sure.

This is the first time reg in Aus so isnt stamp duty applicable for Club Reg. And even if want to go to full reg I am already the owner, so no stamp duty :D

Have I won the lottery or is this the rule

Had the pleasure of going for a ride in this on the weekend. I must say it looks as good (if not better) in the flesh as it does in the photos. Thanks Peter for the hospitality. :)

Beautiful car.
You must be proud.
What did it look like before the paint?
Was it a solid car when you first got it?

69 .. thats is one neat tidy looking cruiser.....

..your Club Rego..is classified as a "permit".. not a sales transfer.. hence never any stamp duty. You would have already paid GST thru the import and the gst on the freight.. .. they get enough the mongrels..
Use you club rego to the max legally...
Enjoy.

Good Job.

Looks like I have some competition as my Camaro seems like the only one on the road at the moment:) , everyone else seems to be playing with their legos! building things that is.:D

Nev68 No not really. New floor, boot and chassis rails. All my problems for rust where at the rear. I bit of a surprise when I finally got it home but that is the nature of the beast with 40 year old cars. Anyway is rust free now and straight :)

I know what you mean.
Our 68 had a vinyl roof and 40 years of weather is devastating. (even California weather)

Your car looks great now though.
Time to enjoy and get some compliments on a very tidy classic

Got the 9 inch diff in (cant say the F word). Bloody heavy mother trying to get thru the springs by the side. Would be easier to drop a spring and bring in from behind on a trolley jack. Anyway is all bolted up now. Traverna did a good job using a "F word" motorsport centre and 31 spline axles. Using HQ drums and the Holden handbrake cables can be made to work with a bit of fiddling. Small Block and Muncie due to come out today, the joys of being retired :D With the engine out will spend a week or 2 cleaning up the engine bay and wiring, before dropping the 502 and Tremic in
By the time the interior is done I reckon the whole project will be finish just inside 2 years which isnt to bad :)

Yesterday got the Small Block and gearbox out. %$% of a job getting the crossmember out. Now found out the best way is to loose the back chassis rail mount and wedge some room. Live and learn
Spent today cleaning up 40 years of yuck in the engine bay. Need to change the Frame mounts and does not look much room to get hold the nuts below, wish Chev had welded in some captured nuts. will tackle this tomm.

Big day today as the engine and gearbox went in. All bolted up tonight, had some issues with the spigot bush but now resolved. The whole assembly went in 1 hit. Happy but rooted now :D :D :D
Next is to get the tail shaft made and exhaust, some wiring and plumbing and VROOM

Looks fantastic. I have the very same engine soon to arrive from the states and will eventually go into my 68 Camaro. Mate, please post a video of this bad boy when you get it running as I, for one, am dying to know what it sounds like.

I have a few questions and if it is OK, I will PM you later.
