Hi fellow aussie camaro-philes. Great to see a forum that caters to us.
I am in the process of building a 1972 z-28 clone. It will have the red with white stripes and 17 inch wheels (would go bigger but married, kids, mortgage etc) Have a 406 to go in it been dynoed at 495 hp 490 ft/lbs. It is going in to be painted in 2 weeks then its off to the transport dept for inspection and hopefully rego. Not many 2nd gen camaros around but nice to see any us muscle getting around to be honest. From what I've seen the members cars are bloody beautiful and those being built seem to be on the right track also.
Anyway, cheers to all members.

Welcome :)

And I agree, don't see many 2nd gen Camaro's around, and when I do they are usually purpose built drag cars. Although over the last few years, i have seen more and more pop up in the sale ads as newly arrived from the states, i think they will take off as well as the first gen... might have to buy one and put it away :p

Anyway, goodluck with the rego :p

Steve.

I love american racing TTII's but they are between $400-$500 landed. What I have found are a speedy wheels rip off for around $280 each. They come in 17x8. I have put pics up of both for comments.

Some of the importers in QLD are bolting a set on everything they bring in, so they must be a little cheaper tham AR ?

@#$@%
This just reminds me of how far aussie business internet sites have to go to be of any use at all..... look at Coy's site..... gives you sizes, bolt patterns, backspacing, finishes and prices...what does speedy give us......it comes in 3 sizes and if you click the link, you get a pretty picutre of it
......ggrrrrrrr... don't @#$@% tell me anything i actually NEED to know, Speedy.

Aussies business seem to have the attitude that they have a web site because....well...someone told them they just HAVE to have one, but the ONLY usefull info on them is their phone number, because that's what you need to know to get ANY info from them.

I've had some of them get all bitter and twisted when you they find out I bought something online from the US instead of waiting 3 months and being screwed in the process !
If they want to compete with the big boys and they want our buisness ? Then they need an accurate online catalog that works"

Well said.

I purchased some Hooker Comp headers from the states for my 67 Camaro a couple of months ago because not only could I not get them here but some shops wanted $3000 yes $3000 to make up a set, with 1 7/8 primaries for a SBC. The purchasing is a lot easier in the states because there is so much competition, so suppliers have to provide additional advice in the hope that the purchasers decision goes their way.
