g'day peoplez,
i couldnt find an intro page.. but this will do....
names murugaa aka muggz... reside in perth, west australia... stumbled on this site a few days ago.. thought id join up... im a die hard chev boy having owned 5 in my time: '68 impala, '76 vette, '67 RS camaro, '88 vette...
current one is a '68 RS camaro (teal blue exterior and blue deluxe interior) in process of a ground up 'pro touring' style. engine i have setup is a crate 350, with moroso dry sump 3 stage pump and the goodies needed to run. hilborn mech. injection.. and today just got from castlemaine rod shop a rack and pinion setup to convert my ride into RHD... also looking into wilwood 6 potters at front and 4 potters at rear *working on it* .... the car will eventually run a 6 point roll cage and used for targa & dutton events just to be different!
have fun!

Welcome Muggz :)
We can't have too many Camaro's on here :p
You doing the RHD conversion yourself?
muggz

hey sirgeo!
yeah ill be doing the conversion myself with a little help from the old man.. just the setting up part. not much can go wrong, especially when castlemaine rod shop fabricated it :D i was 98% close to buying that martz front subbie.. but decided to keep it original and work with what i got. and besides 1100bux for the kit (non power steering) its a bargain. ill just have to really lighten the car to be able to steer the 2 ton of pig iron hehe

Cool build, can't go wrong with a 68.....
I might have to call CMRS myself as I am trying to find a bolt in RHD conversion.
I am alos looking at the Wiwood 6 spots. I have a full kit price from the US for all 4 corners, inc rotors calipers, hoses etc....

if the price is similar to mine what i got today from www.hotrodsusa.com
140-6293d $USD 825.00
140-7019d $USD 1682.99
Includes front brake lines, adj prop valve, brake fluid and ebrake cables.
Go to:
http://www.hotrodheaven.com/store/brakes/coversheet.htm
Be sure to read the brake article and FAQ's
Shipping by UPS Express is going to be about $USD 450 for both the front and
back and accessories.
I takes about 3-4 weeks before I can ship it from here, Wilwood will not
ship international.
Thank You,
Dean
bargain id say... considering rocket industries were charging 3,300aud for just the superlite 6 potter brake kit... Chris Mills Performance over here in perth is going for 2,650bux .. which is like 200bux more expensive if u get a middle man in.... definately shop around and cluxford, if u decide to do similar set.. group buy for the win :)

Speaking of brakes…… I'm just about to get ready and order mine… but to be honest I'm stuck.. Don't know what I need and what I can fit..
I was waiting for someone to get back to me from vic roads, but I haven't heard anything yet…. But upgrading from drums to discs should be fine.. Now just to pick something.. I need a good price and a good item.. but what do I get? Has to be a easy fit..
Anyone? I'd love to take advantage of the sudden increased value of the $Aus :D

Steve, you going to get your brakes local or Stateside? I've been emailing and ringing CPP in CA about some a-arms and brakes......what a bunch ****nuts.
Dickwads have untill tomorrow to mail me a quote or they'll have to bash'em where the sun don't shine :)
I have ordered new rear brakes from Master power brakes, they make an 11" drum kit to replace the 9" standard guy. If Cpp don't come through i will be buying Global a-arms and will get onto Master Power again for some front disks.
Max size you can get on the front i believe is 12"(15" rims).

You going to stick to drums at the rear?
And where i ge them from depends on where i can get the best price for what i need :p
What $$ should i be looking at? I budgetted for $2K, but doesn't look like i'll get much for that :p
And anyone confirmed if A-Arms become a engeering required report item :p I'd love them, but i think i'll wait till i get my rego...

A-arms legal:confused: ....Vicroads would not know if you was half way up their arse with a tram......till the gonger went off and people started walking out of their arseholes:eek: ............just do it.

Nah your right.... I like the DSE stuff..... I think I am going to install the DSE 4 link in version 2.0 :)
cluxford

DSE stuff is the bomb....
I was going to do their sub frame and 4 link rear. but can't convert the front end to RHD and I can get a 4 link fabbed locally for about half the price....but still DSE stuff is very cool.
If anyone is going to buy any DSE stuff let me know I am going to buy their deep tubs for my 68. If we group buy may be able to hit em up for a discount....
muggz
27-04-2007, 08:08 AM
yeah the DSE stuff does look porn.. i didnt know where to look... needs to be censored some parts :D i also went for the coilover conversion kit... that looks neat and should be fun to complete. I figure i save money and get some ohlins or koni coilovers locally... save a bit that way!
