Guys,

I am just about to lay out some hard earned for my new sub frame for the 68. I will be ordering this next week while in Vegas.....

These are very cool. Can't wait to get it over here...then need to convert it to RHD.

Was looking at that the other week... damn its hot as! :)

Being set up for a rack I'm sure it won't be too much trouble to convert to RHD!

I may end up with one in my next project.... we'll see how we go!

Nice!

mind if i ask what it's going to set you back?

And are they legal here? i.e. can you reg your car with one on? or would you still need engineers?

Gotta say.. looks sexy!

Looking over those pics.. I thought 67/68's had a different front sub frame from 69?

The differences are minor I think its something bumpstop related....

Cost US$5600 without brakes (ie just spindles). Uses C5 Vette front end
Shipping extra

Legal - yep. Will need to engineer steering conversion but everything else geometry wise is as per a standard subframe. In fact my chassis guy said most Vicroads guys wouldn't even know the difference

68/69 difference yes just bumpstop and front grille locator points are different

What I love is that it is totally bolt in, gives me R&P steering, coli overs, more strength and rigidity and a way way better looking frame than the ugly OE ones.

Sure it costs a bomb, but show me something that is this hot that doesn't set ya back a penny or 2 ;)

I wouldn't want to paint that sub frame up, if you had i would use clear. Just so you can show off the workmanship. Unreal!

hello 1 g's :D

there is a few shops in america.. i too was looking at conversion... dont wanna hijack the thread but hey.. its for the knowledge rite?!?!?

http://www.martzchassis.net/page1.htm ....
We can install the right hand drive here if you would like. The cost would be as follows

$2850 Independent front suspension
240 Adjustable coil overs
250 sway bar
650 Wilwood Disc Brakes
for a total of $3990 for the Rally and Road Race unit

$1500 for the Mini tub kit with a sway bar
1580 9" differential housing with moser axles
for a total of $3080 for the entire rear kit

This would be $7070

I will have to do some research to get the shipping figured out. I don’t have the total weight. We have been using UPS-Supply Chain Solutions and they have been very prompt with their deliveries and very cost effective also. I will have to have your complete delivery address to get a proper quote made up for you.

I hope I have answered your questions.
thanks,
Jeri

ˆˆˆˆbest thing, martz does rhd rack and pinion in same time.. so all we do here is get engineer to scope it out and wella.. bolt in and bobs your uncle/auntie :D

i know wayne due also did C4-C5 coversions to camaro's but he sold up 6 months or so back... if we only got cheaper shipping and handling!!

That front suspension kit is actually alright for that price.. if they can do the RHD conversion there i'd even consider it next time (hopefully there won't be a next time :p )

Thats awsome!
Now only if it had a Nissan GTR IRS and diff that holds a 1000HP it would be perfect!

SORRY! Wont let it happen again! :D

SirGeo
17-05-2007, 11:20 AM
lol... although that would be nice, the price increase would be massive, and you'd get the hard core muscle car guy's complaining it has jap pieces in it :p

TurboX
18-05-2007, 09:11 PM
Yeah, they would complain alright!!

I have a foot in both camps, so I would reckon it would be the ultimate to have something like that under the Javelin.

Then again, maybe I should think about putting the old AMC 343V8 into my Skyline with two turbos!! :D

SirGeo
18-05-2007, 10:26 PM
a skyline with a V8, especially and old school 8.. now that would be interesting :p

EAT30T that front end is one beautiful piece of engineering.......have you get it imported and installed yet?

cluxford
21-05-2007, 06:21 AM
Don't think EAT30T is doing one of these.....but I am.

It's putchased and due to be delivered to my freight forwarder in New Jersey this week. So suspect it will be out here in July, maybe a bit after.

Will take a while to be installed with all the other work to be done to the car first

Correct I'm not doing one in this current car.... my other one or version 2.0 you could say will get either the art morrison front end or the DSE Hydroformed one..... I think the art Morrison one looks unreal! :)
